1546.0. "Fort Pond - Acton / Littleton Ma" by DELNI::EDWARDS () Tue Feb 26 1991 13:50

    The lack of foliage has made Fort pond in Acton / Littleton Ma quite
    obvious from the road but I can't find a public access. Can anyone help
    - and are there any decent fish in there ?

    Fort pond is violently private. There is a Fort pond association that
    controls all access. There is, I understand, a law in Mass that says
    any large body has to have public access. I think for Fort pond the
    public access is by way of the swamp on your right as you head down
    Newtown Rd towards Acton.
      I've been trying to figure out how to get in myself. I live down the
    road on Mill pond/Lake Warren. There is another big pond in Littleton
    that isn't quite as obvious from the road. If your heading towards
    Littleton ctr on Newtown/Goldsmith st, just after the Shaker lane
    school on the left, is Long Pond on the right. I think it's Town rd
    that get's you to the boat launch/town beach. Nothing over 3hp/10mph.
    It's only populated on 30% of the shoreline. It's not deep. It has
    big rocks just below the surface on the unpopulated side. Lots of
    Small mouth, Lg mouth, pickeral, Perch, Cats and calico. You'll always
    catch something. This is where I used to live.
