1538.0. "White River - White Riv. Junction Area?" by RONAN::RONAN (New York Bank District Software Services) Mon Feb 11 1991 10:19

Can anyone give me a pointer to some decent spots on the White River in
the White River Junctin area? I'm going to be staying up there around
the end of May and would like to get some trout fishing in.
Ideally,it'd be nice if there were a place conducive to Ultralight
    fishing.
    	Thanks!

I assume you mean in VT, yes? I have no first hand knowledge of the
river but there is a sporting goods store in a little mall in Lebanon
NH, I believe it is just north off exit 21 about 1 mile on the right.
There used to be a couple of people working in there that fished the
river regularly. They seemed really knowledgable of the area. You
may want to stop by on the way through.

When you get there, find a tackle shop. Most of the time
they are more than willing to help. They can also assist
you in lure selection. I bet whatever they recommend....
    they also sell. Good Luck!

1538.4Soooo many good spots!!!TOLKIN::RSPEARTue Mar 12 1991 10:1914
    John,

I usually go up above White River Junction and stay. I have fished the
river from there and north, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd branches. All I can say
is that you just have to keep your eyes open and look for likely spots
and try it out. I had some good luck with white, and red rooster-tails,
and small mepps. Opening weekend will be comming up on the 12th of next
month. I haven't missed one for the past five years, I haven't caught
anything yet on opening weekend, maybe this is my year....

Well, good luck in May. You'll be getting up there at a good time.....
