1527.0. "1990 Holiday Gift List" by 11SRUS::LUCIA (A smeltin' we will go) Wed Dec 26 1990 09:19

Okay, list your fishing loot!! I'll start:

From Risa (my S.O., for those not in the know)

BASS Pro Shops coffee mug, dark blue with a gold bass jumping on one side
A 'Sweet Stick' cod rod

From my brothers:

A new lantern for smelting. This one has TWO mantles, so I'll be able to see,
instead of barely seeing!

From my mom and dad:

A new tackle box, Plano Magnum 1152 -- For gitzits and grubs (I think!!) and
maybe worms.
A Penn 113H reel, to go with the Sweet Stick
Several packages of grubs
Ice cleats
A fillet glove, for all those cod we keep catching on the Sweet Dream II.

That's my list--What's yours??

Tim

P.S. Once you use your new toys, let us know how they are!
P.P.S. I'm certain the Sweet Stick will perform admirably...

1527.3no Tuna Rod :-(DRUID::WOODWed Dec 26 1990 10:3511
    I got a pair of Berkley Neoprene fishing gloves from my
    father inlaw (to big, anyone know a place in Mass that sells
    them so I can exchange for a smaller size ???). My sister
    inlaw gave me a pair of ice fishing cleats, and my parents
    gave me this neat fishing knife, that the blade adjusta in
    length, and the sheath is in two parts and hinged, so you
    can use it like a pair of pliers. It also has a sharpening
    stone/hook sharpener built into it...I hinted for a tuna
    rod and reel, not this year though...maybe for my birthday ???? :-)

My mother-in-law gave me a Penn 49 salt-water reel with a 7' Harnell boat
rod. Looks like I'm now set for doing some deep-sea fishing. A few of us
have been talking about going out in mid-February out of some place in Rhode
Island after some cod.  Brrrrrr...

A pack of gitzits....

A grey union suit from LL Bean for ice fishing...

Oh contraire...

The union suit will be put to good use! Between ice fishing and smelting,
it is bound to get used (if we get some safe ice!).
