1508.0. "GET WELL RAY DESROSIERS" by XCUSME::WATERS (The Legend of the Lakes) Mon Oct 22 1990 09:41

A lot of the guys in this file had the pleasure to know and to fish
with Ray Desrosiers. Ray excepted a job somewhere down in Alabama. So
we haven't heard from Ray in quite sometime.

A mutual friend of Ray's informed me that Ray had been diagnosed with
having a tumor behind his eye. Ray was recently operated on and they found
  the tumor to be cancerous.

I have started to circulate a get well card around. I would like to send
it off by the end of the week. So...to save some time, if you would like
to wish Ray well....do it here. I'll extract all the replies and send it
  with the card.

                                                     John

Ray founded the NH Amateur Bass Club (currently called the NH
Bassmasters). Most, if not all, of the original members were DECies,
most of whom read this file. And, still, most current members are DECies
and read this file. Ray did a GREAT job establishing the 'nature' of the
club. The focus is to get together and go fishing and have fun. And
try not to take things too seriously. Although the club's name has
change, Ray's philosophy is still our main objective.

We heard about Ray's surgery and were awaiting the results. We're sorry
    to hear the bad news.

Ray is a true sportsman in the finest sense of the word. And I'm sure
    he'll fight this one well.

Best of luck Ray. Cathy and I will be keeping you in our prayers.

    Get well soon, donmac

Ray, we haven't met, but you have the very best wishes for a speedy
recovery of "Lavender Jack" Hagerty and myself. We're pulling for you
to be back on the lakes in good health as soon as possible.
For all you've done for us and for Bass fishing - THANKS !

Ray you old whipper snapper what are you up to down there in gods
country. We all miss you up here and all of us are pulling for you to
get better. I miss those thrilling days of yesteryear year when you
and I use to go out and show all the legends of fishing, what real
fishing was about. I along with my family am lodging a prayer upstairs
to the big fishermen asking for a expedient recovery for a "good old
    fishermen named Ray"

I'm probably the last guy Ray wanted to hear from. All my name does
for him is reminds him of how many times I out fished him. Why, I can
still see Ray on his knees...BEGGING me to be "President" of the bass
    club he started.
Things haven't changed much Ray. I'm still catching more fish than I
care to reel in! You only need to read the file to know how much MORE
I am respected...since you left for the south.

Take care of yourself and hang in there. Please let me know how
you're doing and I'll post it in the file. Hope your feeling better
    real soon.

Who knows, I may even go fishing with you! Not that I'd let you out
fish me...but, hey...we's have a goodtime just the same.

1508.22Hang in there Ray! We're with you!!SALEM::EASTERMon Oct 29 1990 14:2015
    Hey Ray,

sorry I didn't get anything in to be sent out last week. Once hunting
season starts I tend to take a vacation from the fishing NOTES file and
dodge them ducks now. Glad to here your back and getting back up to
speed. Jim Flanders sends you best wishes and says " Don't let his wife
know I'am still kicking". Are you ready for this, I'am doing N.H.
Marine Patrol now and one of my assigned locations is Massabesic lake
and I can launch on the restricted side. You should see some of the
cover and "bassy" looking spots on that side. Of course I'am just over
there chasing out them law breakers, BTW did you ever get over that
    line????

Best of luck and best wishes, John.
