Giant tuna in New Jersey? You better beleive it!!

At the Mud Hole the giant action has broken wide open. From the friday
edition of the Star Ledger from the salt water section written by Al
    Ristori.Printer without permission.
"there was areal crush of tuna weigh-ins at teh Brielle Yacht Club on
Tuesday.Captains Tom and Jack Kelly had a 525 pounder on the Capt.Kel
while Mike Ajello had a 769 pounder on the Susan B.Capt Clint Dunham
Took a 425 pound giant on his Barb-Gail 2 .Capt Scott Braco put an 820
pounder aboard the Ja-Brett-Da while the Petroas Brothers weighted a
605 pounder on Toys R Us.Capt gary Cannell weighed an 810 pounder giant
caught on the Tuna Hunter.Capt Billy Brower had a 669 pounder.
There was a breif bite on Wed in the 70 boat fleet.Capt Barry
    Goldman had a 810 pounder on his Ol'Salty 2.Capt Skeet Frink had a 710
pounderat Hoffmans Marina in Brielle-along with a 610 pounder for Capt

The Intrepid from Southside Marina in Pt.Pleasent Beach had a 726
    pounder.
Yesterday's minimal action for the close to 100 boats didn't last
very long.Dennis Menser started things off with a 610 pounder on his
lobster boat Ol'Salty from Pt Pleasent Beach. Then the Action 2 from
Staten Tsland lostagiant only to catch a630 pounder an hour later.Capt
Scott Braco continued his hot streak on the Ja-Brett-Da with his third
giant of the week a 776 pounder that fought for four hours. The only
tuna reportby the Brielle Yacht Club was a 225 Medium Cauht on the Capt
    James Foy's Wildcatter from Manasquan."

Quite a week at Monster Ledge an area in the Mud Hole. They have been
back to our coast for the last couple of years and what a showing they
    have made this week.

Sitting here reading the article while on standby for the week I
figured you Tuna nuts would like to know where the REAL big ones are.

Land locked and without a way to get in on the action,

1491.2Giants Still in New Jersey Mud Hole!Tuna Time!KYOA::LUIZZAMon Sep 10 1990 19:4110

Today's fishing report looks tha same with only 15 listed giants caught
up to 810 pounds. They reported a fleet of over 175 boats working for
them.If that's the amount reported just think of the number unreported.
They have increased the limit to 2 giants per boat and some had 2!

Still on land and standby with a goal of a giant someday

How about a Tuna report from the north of me or the south of me.

Would be very interested in reports from the Delaware,Maryland and
south areas.Even if just from your local fishing colums.
