1487.0. "DEC Terminal Anglers Fall Classic" by DEMING::MATTSON () Tue Aug 07 1990 09:17

Folks,

I had a place called the King's camp ground get back to me last
night with the best price so far. This camp ground is located on the
site of our first tourney Manchaug.

The bottom line is we can have a cookout afterwards, they have a
pavilion we can use for $50. The camp sites to rent are only $16.
I've seen this camp ground before and it seems like a decent place.
I'll be double checking it this weekend. Normally their closed this
time of year but will still be open due to some work going on. Their
management was very receptive to what I told them we wanted to do (most
places didn't want anything to do with us, they must have heard about
the Legend and Pardo).

As far as fishing goes it's got tons of rocks for structure as well
as a lot of decent shoreline. As far as big fish go, anyone at the
first Tourney who saw Les weigh in that close to 6lb Hawg, knows their
there. Any type of boat can be used and bass can be caught as soon as
you go either way at the ramp.

So it looks like we have all our bases covered on what we wanted to
accomplish. After I go down and check out the place this weekend,
we'll get the sign ups and preregistration going. I'll send everyone a
map of the lake and all the directions and info once they register.

Sunday, September 30th, 8am - 2pm, Lake Manchuag in Sutton Mass.

Gang,

Well I'm back from my quick vacation. It looks like nobody has any
problems with September 30th and all the replies said to keep this
date. So in answer to Bob's question the official date is September
30th, 8-2 pm, at Manchuag Pond in Sutton.

Again the Entry Fee is 30$ per team and this is a preregister
event. What I'll do is have the teams mail a check to my house, then
I'll keep a running note of who has officially registered. I need to
put a deposit on renting the area we're going to have our barbacue at
and also need to order up the plaques.

My address::
Gary S. Mattson
1459 Grafton Road
Millbury Mass. 01527

Please put a return address on your entry fee and I'll mail you back a
map of the Lake and instructions on how to get there.

1487.3Camping informationSEMIU5::MATTSONMon Aug 27 1990 13:3633
Folks,
For those of you whom are concidering camping the day before the Tourny,
here's the Info. The name and address:

KINGS CAMPGROUND
Lake Manchaug, Sutton
Post Office Box 2
So. Grafton, MA. 01560

Phone # 508-478-2534

It's $16.00 per night two adult occupancy. I requested an area where
you could have 3-5 sites all together. It's right on the beach. I'll send
anyone requesting information the map and layout of the site with their entry
fee reply.

The camp sites looked pretty decent to me when I looked at them this
weekend. The have running water and electricity for each site. There's also
a fireplace to use if you so desire. But you have to supply your own wood and
obviously you can't cut down the trees there. The only hitch is you have to pay
a $ 5.00 fee if you want to keep your boat docked on the beach.

The State ramp which is the official Starting and Finishing place for
the tourney is only 1/2 mile away on the other side of the Water from the camp
ground ( You can see the State ramp from your camp sites). Noramlly you have to
check out by 1pm, however the camp manager is waving this and I told him we'd
all be gone by around 6pm that day.

So again to recap, anyone who requests camping information with their
Entry Fee, will have the information sent to them along with a map of the Lake.

1487.4More Tourny InformationSEMIU5::MATTSONMon Aug 27 1990 14:0026
Folks,
Here's the game plan come the day of the Tourny with regards to the
cook out afterwards. The official Start and Finish site is the State Ramp. We
can't use the Campgrounds for this. So we'll launch from this site, fish,
weigh in, get all the boats on their trailers and then proceed to the
campground for the cookout and awards.

The manager of the campground doesn't have a problem with us bringing in
our boats on the trailers and parking them on what he calls the main road at
the camp ground. From the main road the Pavilion we'll be using is just a short
walk away. The pavilion has a wooden roof over it and has electricity hooked up
to it. He said we can take some of the picnic tables in the area and place
them in their for our use, then when we're done we have to put them back.
There's no fire place in this pavilion so the game plan is to still use what
we're bringing to cook with.

Please remember that some folks have year round camp sites at this place
and allthough it's offically closed to overnighters this time of year there will
still be some of these year round folks there. I must say that this
Manager has gone out of his way to help me out on this matter. Some answers and
prices I've recieved from other places are totally out to Lunch. I really am
looking forward to pulling this whole tourny off and having a great time before,
during, and after the Tourny. Please keep those pre entries coming.

regards,
Madd Matt
1487.5Finishing timeSEMIU5::MATTSONWed Aug 29 1990 17:0421
Folks,
(Picture this I'm up on my soap box) When you enter a Bass fishing
tournament it's like Outlaw Sprint Cars, YOU RUN WHAT YOU BRUNG. You can debate
advantage, disdvantage thing to death as far as having a smaller powered boat.
The fact of life is it's a safety issue and that's the way it is. You choose
whether or not to compete with what you have. No Tourny I've ever heard of does
anything different (Down off my soap box).

But due to the nature of this event and to keep things fair, I'll do the
following. The rules for the start stay the same, however I will grant a
maximum of 10 minutes longer for anything under 10 hp to get back to the ramp
area. In addition at 2:00 pm, anything from the dam back to ramp is off limits
for fishing. This will eliminate anyone in any type of craft from using the 10
minutes as additional fishing time and not it's intent, time to let the smaller
boats get back to the weigh in.

I'm not trying to be a hardass or put anyone down and I hope this makes
everything fair and we can get back to the fishing and insults that we're all
so good at.

Gang,
Today will go down in history, the mighty Madd Matt has been humbled by
the one and only LEGEND. The phone number for the campgrounds in message 137 is
wrong. I can't read and write at the same time. The correct phone # is 508-
476-2534. Thank you Legend for your creative way in letting me know of this
error. It's scary to think, but I guess I have to admit, there is a use for you
on this planet after all.

Hey MM
Please remove that TBA next to my name and include Paul and I on
this.
1487.10RULES for the TournamentDEMING::MATTSONThu Sep 13 1990 13:2966
These are the rules for the tourney. I have just taken them from
the original DEC Bassmaster Classic. They are basically the same
ones we have used for all the previous tournaments.

THE RULES: as far as we see them now.

First Rule: Keep all the other rules simple. This is for fun not
profit.

Second Rule: Remember First Rule at all times.

We won't punish for dead fish, but all contestants must have some
form of live well. This can be a cooler which you change the water
in as needed, or any other form of "reasonable" container. The "intent"
here is to keep as many fish alive as possible, so we can "catch
and release." Dead fish can be taken home for dinner by those wishing
to. I suggest you all use some form of live-well enhancer..Catch
and Release is one brand name and only costs about the price of
a six-pack. Since it relaxes the fish, it also can turn a "short"
into a keeper ;^)

This is not a "sponsored" event, by DEC or any other agency. We are
on our own.

It will be an 6 hr. tournament. Starting time 8:00 (am) and check
in at 2:00 (pm). There will be no early check-in!!!

Landing nets are allowed and you can use any bait on a rod EXCEPT live
bait. No hand lines and such. Rod and Reel only. Only one rod and reel
combination can be used and in the water at any time by any fisherperson.

Starting position will be determined by draw and the last draw will be
the "offical" starter. The intent here is give all the boats enough
time to clear the area before the next one goes off. Any kind of boat
is allowed, and you are responsible for your own safety and the boats
ability to pass an inspection by a law enforcement agency if they are
present. We won't check for life vests, etc.. Insurance and such is the
fishermans' responsiblity. Any boat under 10 hp doesn't draw for a
starting position. All boats in this class leave after the starter's boat
leaves. All boats under 10 hp will also be granted up to a maximum of 10
additional minutes to get back to the ramp. At 2:00 pm all fishing is off
limits in the area of Manchaug from the dam all the way back to the road.
(More will be discussed about this at the day of the tourney).

First boat on a position has the right of way. If the boat is moving
in a direction you can't jump in front of it, but may go in behind
it. Distance of control is an "estimated" 100 yds in front and 50
yds behind. The idea is to not crowd other boats, like we all do
the time when we fish regularly. Remember that there will be other
non-tourney fisherman out there, so watch who you yell at. If you
want to come in and talk to your friends in other boats, stand off
and ask first. BE POLITE..... (I know LEGEND it's tough to be humble.)

Please check in and enter with myself prior to launching your boat.
(I'll be wearing a black jacket that has Worcester County Bassers on
the back.)
If needed you should be able to indentify that at least one person on
your team is a DEC employee or DEC contractor.

Please give me a call at DTN 225-6648 or send mail to DEMING::Mattson
if you need further info.

Gang,
A few things, 1st off I've only gotten 7 teams so far whom have sent me
their donation. WHERE'S THE REST OF YOU?????? I hate to think I went through
all of this for nothing. I would expect that a couple teams probably won't know
if there really going to be there untill the day of the Tourney. But not this
many teams still uncommitted. Please, I would appreciate getting this all done
now so we don't have to screw around with it at the Ramp the day of the Tourny.
If you changed your mind about attending let me know that as well.

The second issue is with the Plaques. Originally I was getting 4,
however, now I'm only going to get 3. We'll combine the Largemouth and
Smallmouth awards into one. It will be the Lunker award for the tourny. We can
still have the two separate pools for Lg mouth and Sm Mouth, the biggest fish
out of these two will take the Lunker Plaque. Or we could just have one lunker
pool period, instead of one for SM and one for LG.

If you have any response to this message please send it to Note 1459.

I'd guestimate Manchaug is 1.5hrs from Nashua? It's about a half hour
from Worcester, right Gary?

Mass Non-resident 7 days $11.50 or year $17.50 (no day or 3 day).

I pick up mine at Littleton town hall every year. The closest place I
know from Nashua is Tyngsboro town hall, give me a call and I'll tell
ya how to get there. They may also be available at sporting good

Gang,
I went out yesterday and ordered the plaques. As I said in an earlier
reply, I only got three of them. One each for the winners and one for the
Lunker. I used the wording in the previous note. I also left a space on them
so that the winners of these awards could have their name's scribe on them,
later on, if they so desire. I'm asked them to try and put a picture of a Bass
on them if they could. Don't know if this will happen ( whatch them put a trout
or a kiver on by mistake, I specifically said a Bass or nothing).

Sorry folks I have not read this in some time.

To get to manchuag from worcester area: Rt 395 to exit 4E that is
"Sutton Ave Sutton" about after you pass singletary rod + Gun club,
on you left then a little further is spans country store and A white
church, the second right after the church is called Manchuag Rd.
There is a lot of campground signs on the corner. You finally see the
lake after about 1mile. go all the way around the lake, you will no
longer see the lake. Once you pass the YMCA camp bear right at the
fork going down the hill. The ramp will be on your right after you
level out at the bottom of the hill. If you come to the dam and the
lake again you just went by it.

You can also get there from rt 146. Take the Central turnpike exit
(sutton ave) about 1 mile after the 4 corners (blue jay rest) Manchaug
road will be on your left.

If you know how to find lake singltary, just continue past the ramp on
singltary road all the way around sing. until the road comes to an end.
about 10 miles. Take a left then the first right is manchaug road.

Can you find it know? Call me at dtn: 297-7841 for more detailed list.

Bassin Bob

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

If you are coming from the 295 - 395 (old rt 52) you would want
to take exit 4E off of 395, thats sutton ave Sutton. About 5 miles
or so you would go by Singltary Rod and Gun Club, you will go over
a little hill SLOW DOWN watch out for cop. You past Spains country
store and a white church on your right. about 1000 yards on your
right There are signs for camp grounds and such take that rt. Manchug
Rd. about 2 miles you will see the lake on your right (after one
pond and two campgrounds) The road goes around the lake, You will
pass a YMCA camp and will nolonger see the lake. You go down a
steap hill. At the bottom of the hill The ramp will be on your right.

If you miss it you come to the dam and lake again on your rt. Turn
around and go back it will be the first left after you turn around.
I don't know if there is a sign or not.

The lake has all kinds of ROCKS like singltary so use caution near
shore (don't go buzzing between Island and shore) after you launch
you are in a cove Go to your right to head out into the Big lake.
About 1000 yards or so Almost out of the cove is an old dam under
the water. Right in the middle is an opening IT IS ONLY MARKED
RIGHT NOW WITH TWO SODA BOTTLES. at this time. WATCH OUT GO SLOW.
After the dam you can open it up. Just to the rt and left of the
dam there are lots of rocks so go straight.

If you Know where the ramp is on singltary keep going past the ramp
and around the lake until the roads ends.(10mins heading away from millbury)
Take a left then first right that is MAnchuag RD follow directiosn
above.

Bassin Bob, If anyone wants a map call me or send mail and I will
mail you one from work.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you take 146 out of worcester It is a lot faster if you get off
the Central Trpk exit which is right at Pleasent Valley golf course.

This is also called sutton ave bug the highway sign calls it central
Tnpk. Go Right at the end of ramp. You will come to a 4 corners
with the blue Jay (pub) on your left. Go straight about 1 mile
a park or some kind of field is on your left then you start to go
up a hill, take 2 left after park It's the one with all the signs
for the campgrounds. Then follow directions from Manchuag Rd from
and earlier note.

Did you see note 1459.264? If there is a club there on the 30 with 15 more
boats you folks are going to be crowded!!

They will have started to draw that lake down by then and 30 boats will
be too much.. Plus they start at 6:30 am..

Lets move it to saturday! That way it will not be so bad!
what do you say boys?

1487.22IMPORTANT INFORMATION PLEASE READSEMIU5::MATTSONThu Sep 20 1990 13:5243
Gang,
Well as always Murphy's Law comes into play once again and has made
today's lunch hour a pain (except the Kiv and B.C. stopping buy and giving me
their donation). I've talked to Bassin Bob and the Warden, Yes it's true
another club will be on the water the day of our tournament.

Now what to do, I've thought over many options. Here are the 3 that I
feel make the most sense. I'll leave it up to the teams that have paid up so
far to decide what we want to do.

1ST Option Cancel the tourny or move to another site. To be quite
frank I don't want the hassles of moving it and there's no guaranty
we wouldn't have the same problem somewhere else. I myself would fish
a crowded tourny before I'd ever decided not to fish at all.

2ND Option Change the date to Saturday the 29th. There's some hassles
here but none that probably couldn't be worked.

3RD Option Keep everything the same and roll with the punches. The
only thing I'd change is possibly our weigh in time by 1/2 an hour
either way if it's the same as the other clubs.

Now I know that there's more options than what I've put down but to keep
it simple, these 3 are the only ones I'll entertain. My personal preference is
for Option 3. Two years ago we had 28 boats of our own from DEC out at
Manchaug and many more from the area. The ramp was at full capacity. I can't
envision us and this other club coming close. However there is a possibility
that the water level at the Lake could be down some come next weekend that
theoritically makes the fishing a little tighter by less spots for boats to
go.

The Warden (Mike McCarthy is calling me tonight with hopefully how many
boats this other club has attending and what time They're weigh in is supposed
to be. The only other issue is the permit thing. They probably have one and we
don't. I really don't know how big an issue that is. Bassmaster Dave, you
could probably enlighten us if this is really an issue of not, seeing your the
President of your Bass Club.

1487.24Let's do it...ASHBY::ADAVISFri Sep 21 1990 04:4018

MADD MAT needs the donations and I need a partner with a "real"
boat to attend this event. I consider myself a pretty good fisherman
and would definitely be more of a help than a hindrance to any team.
I really would like to attend this tourney and have money in hand
awaiting a partner. I will fish rain or shine, NO complaining!
I can joke around and I can get serious about fishing, but I can't
do anything without a partner! I can't be that bad...,the LEGEND
doesn't like my comments about him either! :^) :^) :^)

C'mon guys, let's get the show on the road, the touney is only

Folks,
The Warden got back to me last night. The club in question is a small
club, this tourny is just an end of the season bash for them, they're not doing
it to qualify for anything. Warden told me that they're expecting only 8 boats
to show up.

We also had a thought to combine them with us. But they're starting at
6:30 am. I think this is a little too early for any of our folks who are
travelling any distance. So needless to say we'll stay as is. Most of the
reply's I got back where to keep it on Sunday anyhow.

Gang,
Well it's getting close to that time. Just a reminder that the barbacue
afterwards is bring your own whatever. We'll have some grills to cook on but
everything else is up to you. Orginally I had myself and two others say they
were going to bring their grills. Can anyone planning to do this send me a
message offline on DEMING::MATTSON. I'll also throw a big cooler into my
Jeep, full of ice. Your welcome to put any of your food stuff in it to keep
untill after the tourney.

I'm going to pick up mine and Ray's, err the winners plaques tonight on
the way home from work. What I plan on doing Sunday is having a quick meeting
before we shove off to decide the Lunker pool split and the payoff breakout.
I'll have a big board with all the teams on it, please check in with me as soon
as you get there. We'll be giving out the awards and payoffs at the Pavilion in
the camp ground.

Please remember for those of you who are new at this, an 8:00 am start
means all boats are in the water and starting to move out, not just pulling into
the parking lot and getting ready. If everyone gets there a little early and
is ready we can even start a few minutes earlier. A good rule of thumb is to
always plan to get to your tournament site at least a 1/2 before the scheduled
start.

Gang,

I was going through all my mail today and noticed that I missed another
team that said they'll be there, my apologies Ken and Al, your on the official
list now. I have another bit of information, rumor has it that a mystery team
headed up by none other than BASSIN BOB himself will be there. If anyone see's
Bob have him get a hold of me today. So this brings us up to 23 teams if
everyone shows up.

THANKS, gang, you really made my work pay off. Now I hope the fish and
lake will cooperate. I've heard through the grapevine that the level at
Manchaug is starting to come down, this will really make things intresting and
probably take away any home court advantage from anyone. Probably only Bassin
Bob knows where the Bass go when this starts to happen. And I know he's not
telling.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE (you to Legend) LETS HAVE SOME FUN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gee. Im making here what appears to be the first reply. I used that
same stuff the winners used. I fished the same kind of water the
winners had.
The only difference was the 'Legend of the Lakes' pin I had in the
boat. Both the Bandit and I had our on. It was the Kiss Of DEath.

Question. Did anyone who had one of these pins, catch anything worth
bringing to the scales?

GREAT JOB Madd Matt. The Legend put on a great show at the weigh-in
festivities. If you miseed this gala event, tough. Dont miss the next
one. My only complaint, how am I goona wait all winter to try and
redeem ourselves AND do this again. Can we do it earlier in the year?

Guys,
We'll it looks like the low water had a lot of us stumped.
Congrats to all the winners especially Harbormaster and Don Mac for a job well
done. Needless to say I was hoping more of us had fish to weigh in.

I want to thank Les for being the weighmaster, Don Mac for bringing the
back up scale. Bassmaster Dave for bringing his Gas grill. Yes and even the
Legend for providing the entertainment(he really livens up the party). I was
disappointed more folks didn't show up at the Pavilion, but to each his own.

As customary in the past it would be nice for the top 5 teams to post
a note telling all us unfortunates on what and where they caught their fish.
Thanks to all the teams that showed up to make this a success. Like the New
England Patriots say "WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR".

First off, there are several kudos (that's "praise," Legend...) to be
handed out. I've never fished a tourney before (still haven't. Why
didn't we "split shot" some "Western worms ?" why didn't I try my
"Reaper" worms ?), but Gary Mattson couldn't have done a better job.
Everything was organized to the 9's, and the location was great (ever
wonder why someone wants to spend the summer living in an aluminum can
with a view of another aluminum can ?) - docking, the pavilion,
everything. I also want to thank The Legend for providing us with a
rallying point to help keep interest in the tourney up. The post
tourney awards were great, and my thanks to Rich Neal as well for a
super job. Mine came in handy, because while I was home talking to my
girl friend some dip started leaking out of my chin. I just slapped
that sucker on and - no problem. She was impressed at how thoughtful
and concerned you guys are, so I told her we had another event next
Sat. What I didn't tell her was that the event was gonna be held at The
Fuzzy Grape, and I'm the event...
I've got a suggestion _ let's have 2 divisions in the next tourney
with the same prize money; one for fishermen, and one for fat guys.
did'ja notice that none of us zeppelins caught squat ? Think about it,
me, Lavender Jack, The Legend, Gitzit', the Keg, Rich Neal, Jeff Huson
Gus (the rest of you know who you are) caught squat. Everybody knows
that fat guys aren't athaletes, so - cut us some slack ! You might ask
why I'm trying to piss off a bunch of large people. I'm kinda concerned
as well, but - let the truth be heard !!

Nice job "Harbormaster" and DonMac, but if you think I'm gonna grovel
in front of DonMac like Ota, guess again ! My favorite memory was
watching blast off and seeing the tidal wave engulf the Gitzit'. I
thought they had the trolling motor down ( I KNOW the feeling...). BTW,
my theory is that once a LEGEND pin crosses your gunwales, you're toast
! You don't even have to wear it - just touch it. We need an exorcism
if he's gonna do things like that. Good to meet y'all, and I'm sure
I'll be sharing a cell with you one day (probably Rich Neal, the man is
a very sick person...).

all fish were in less then 2 ft. of fwater.

caught fish?! You are a fool! Call me and I'll tell you!

the pin was the only thing you had going for ya. I think Jack

OK Skoal Bandit, You finally came up with good idea. Its obvious why we are
at a disadvantage. With all the weight in the boat, it takes an hour to
get anywhere. BTW I think I could have won the fat guys division with my
one stinking fish.

Good for you, I guess you don't want OTA's award.

1487.66how I spent My Sunday, once again, thanks JohnJUPITR::PARTAINIt's a LUNKA!!Mon Oct 01 1990 11:4630
Well, once again , thanks for all the fun to you all. Congrats to the
other 3 winning teams!

As you well know...

Ken and I headed out in the draw of number 15 to the island with the
house on it and fished from the island, over to the left of it into the
cove and around to the right to the road without pulling anything in.
Lotsa bites but nothing on the hook, we used jig and legend..oops, sorry,
Jig and pig, rubber worms, spinnerbait, top water lures, but we never
thought to fish deep. Some "spots" on the finder but no joy. We decided
after 3 hours of boredom to go fishin up the assabet river and have some
real fun, but knew we couldn't let you know who show us up so decided to
keep with it.

We picked up and headed for the cove where the ramp was and stayed there.
We decided to just keep running jig and pig on one line all the time, which
Ken did and I would try for smallies with everything else. I managed to pull
in no less than 10 perch/kibbie/whatever_the_hell_ya_wanna_call_em right in
front of the ramp on to the left of it but no bass..Ken pulled in 2 keepers
to the left of the docks where we weigh'd in. I switched to jig'n pig, popped
a non-keeper and then on no more on-hook bites and that was that.

I guess the moral of the story was, since this was our FIRST tourney,
make every nibble count..! One more woulda been a spot up on the charts!

See you next year if the "ax" doesn't swing in this direction!

"LT" and Ken

The lunker was caught on a 1/2-ounce lead head jig with a 4-inch
smoke colored rubber worm. We hooked into him in 20 feet of water
about 45 minutes after start time. I knew I was onto something big
and Don got ready with the net. Don kept asking me if I was hung
up on the bottom. To be honest I started to wonder myself as the
wind was pushing us around quite a bit... but the drag kept screamin'
as this bass wanted to stay deep, then made a run towards under the
boat. When the hawg started comming up Don was ready with the net
just as she broke water about 4 - 5 feet from the boat. Don was
ready a scooped her up.

This was truely a team catch. The hook had opened-up about 45
degrees from the fight. If it wasn't for Don's quick net I don't
think the hook set would have held much longer.

And yes... Les, I did release this Hawk to fight again.

Our other two bass were caught on spinner baits, both in 2 - 3 feet of
water at about 1 PM to finish the day.

Both Don Mac and I also had Legend Pins on our hats.

Thanks again to Madd Matt for the fine tourney... first rate job!!!

And for the awards and "after awards" ceremonies..... quite a show,
quite a show indeed. The Legend and Neal presentations were worth
more than the price of admission.

Just wanted to mention something the Kiv caught along with all the
short bass. We were in the back of one of the shallow coves throwing
spinnerbaits when he hooked up REAL good! From the size of the swirl
and the way the fish was running we thought he had the lunker winner
for sure! It would bury itself in the weeds and then take off again
every time we got near it. I finally saw a flash and realized that
this was a *BIG* fish! When we finally got it in the net, I should
say half in the net, and hauled it in the boat we were more than a bit
surprised to find out it was a 36 in. Pike! Yes, we measured it!
One ugly slimy fish! Great fish Kiv! By the way, he pulled this out
of a shallow weedy area on 8 lb., that's right EIGHT POUND line! May
not have been worth any money but it's still a good reward for the
days fishing! We made sure it was OK and released it so it can grow
up!

I've been out of the office since thursday so have not had a chance to
reply or respond to the many notes.

I'd like to thank Matt for putting on a great tourny, I think it was a
good time for all. And once again I enjoyed putting more names to faces.

Special thanks to my partner the Harbormaster for catching the HAWG that
made our day! Without the hawg we would have placed in the money, but
not on top! 8^)

And, Legend, my netting of the Harbormaster's hawg was not the *only*
thing I did all day. To my defense, I did manage to catch ~4 bass, of
which one was one of our keepers.

Congrats to all on a fine tournament!

I already said nice things about Mad Matt, winners, etc. so I'm not
gonna say any more. This is a suggestion: It would be kinda nice if we
had name tags to stick on (nickname tags ?) at the end of the tourney.
Otherwise, a lot of guys talk to people they know, maybe talk to one
other strange face, but generally just shuffle their feet, stand next
to their partner and look goofy.
We couldn't stay after the awards, but I did get to meet a few guys
who were only "noters" to me before. Woulda been easier if we had tags.
Just a thought - it might have started up conversations easier. I'd
have liked to "rap" about tackle and stuff like that. See y'all at The
Centrum.

I hear you Bandit!

Maybe everyone should have a SWEAT SHIRT on....with their name all over
it.

We'll have to do this at the Legend/Don MAC WINNY Tournament.
