Sat there in the boat 4 hours while my partner took in 3, one 4-5lb and
the rest little guys, and I got nuttin..He was usin a Jig'n pig and all I
had was wurms..them rubber ones..a few spinners but no strikes..

But just curious if anyone else has been inthere...

	Hi Chuck,

The Assabet has lots of Bass and some are nice size, I find if
use a conoe and fish areas that don't get heavy pressure you can have a field
day. My partner and I took 2 rookies out on a sunday morning and the 4 of us
got 52 bass in about 3 1/2 hours.

We also ice fished a section once and got numerous 2 and 3 pounders.

The condition of the river leaves alot to be desired though, alot of
trash and you can tell ie smell that alot of raw sewerage flows into it on a
hot day.

I too fish there alot, but I put in right at the dam in down town
Hudson and fish from the dam up river. There are plenty of bass and
pickeral. Has anyone fished from the dam down river?

During the era of THE ~~~~~~~~~WORM he would fish the Assbet below the
dam at lunch time with a Moss Boss and tell of MONSTER BASS! He ALWAYS
    told the truth.

6:00 or 6:30 at night they seem to bite real good at that time ive
caught quite a few pickerle to a couple of monsters i caught last

inflatable withthe trolling motor, holler out a hello...it a sun

tonight though I fish with a friend of mine who has a real tracker..
picked up a 2 and a 3 pound bass last night..and a few thousand weeds
using rubber worms "texas" style. Maybe see you there sometime.

I sometimes stop at the bridge near the golf course on the way in
if I'm early or my way home. usualy catch something biggest probably being
~3 punds.

This weekend I was in the Mill doing and upgrade and had nothing
to do while it chugged around. I decided to try fishing between the buildings.
I got a 19 incher and a couple smaller ones running a white spinner bait with
a white trailer between the pilings.

was up there last night from 5 till 9:30..picked up a 12" pickerel
got rained on and imitated a few of the people who were in the tourney..
(ie...got skunked for the most part..!)

funny place...one night you can get 15, others nothing..but that's the
    fun of it...

I saw a few people on the bridge last night whilst we were putting in
but no crowd to speak of, but monday night there were 4 people there.

I don't want to get too far off the subject here....but I will
    anyway.

Since we're talking about the Assabet, I willbet that some of you
are familiar with Ft. Medow Resevoir in Hudson/Marlboro.

Can anyone point me towards a contour map of the place?

    		thanks,

I've been fishing the Assabet a bit lately with fair results...

I put in at the bridge on the Stow side of Lake Boon and have had
    best results fishing downriver.

If it doesn't rain tomorrow (fat chance of that! :^( ), I'm thinking
of trying to put in at four bridges Rd. in Hudson. Has anyone tried
fishing that stretch of river? It doesn't appear to get much
pressure these days (unlike when they used to stoick trout in the
    river!).
