1452.0. "Pawtuckaway info" by VAXSTA::FERRI (BOB) Tue Jul 10 1990 09:53

    Hi Guys

My fist time in the notes file so lets see how good of a
    bunch of sportsmen you are.......

I have never been on Pawtuckaway before, and am going over this
evening to check it out. Would anyone like to share some basic
info, like which launch is best, boating hazards, is it difficult
traveling north/south thru the gap near Horse island, stuff like that.

I won't ask for any fishin info but if someone would like to volunteer
some it would be appreciated. See some of you at the tourney.

    Big bass to you all...

Bob, the launch that we will be using will be the only public launch on
the lake, in Fundy Bay. If you do not have Clark's NH Fishing guide,
I strongly suggest picking one up, besides providing a good map and
directions to the launch to Pawtuckaway - it will provide the same for
nearly every bassin water in NH.

The other launch on the lake is in the state park and is only available
    for campers.

The part of Pawtuckaway that requires the most caution while navigating
is the section near the mouth of Fundy Bay - but there there are markers.
Follow them and watch where other boats go. Both sides of the main
lake are pretty much clear of obstacles. Again, Clark's map is VERY
    useful.

As far as fishin tips go, I can honestly say that I do not have a tried
and true pattern for the lake. It's a good sized lake with alot
of varied stucture and the fish can be anywhere at any given time.

Come on Don...you can be more specific......like where you fish...where
those big rocks and stumps are submerged. I promise I won't look at
this note again. So go ahead...tell Bob all about the place...I'm
leaving this note right now...for GOOD!

I know BOB will really appreciate this!

Try the right hand shoreline, find some visible rock structure and
fish the outside of it with a black jig 'n pig. After posting this
note, you'll probably have to "take a number", but I hope this helps.

get the new "Red Man" Long Cut...).
1452.4I'll be there....VAXST8::FERRIBOBTue Jul 10 1990 14:417
Thanks for the info, guys. I will get out the "big stick" and catch them
all today and put them back where I know they will be, and I will try to
convince them to stay away from the legends lures......

    	Bob,

The waterway leading out to the main lake holds some nice fish.
When you get to the end of this and have to bear left to get to the
main part of the lake you'll be looking at a good sized bruch pile
island seperated in the middle by a water way. It will probably be worth
your while to pound on this. In back of this is another much smaller one
worth trying and about 50 yards off the right hand corner of the big
bruch pile island is a submerged tree worth trying. I'd suggest using
something weedless here of be prepared to lose some tackle. You may be
able to see the tree if the water is low enough.

Going towards the main part of the lake you'll see another small
brush pile island on the right hand side in front of a small cove. From
here you could bear to your left and there is a stone/cement wall on
the far left hand side at that end of the lake. The rock face of the
small island just before it is worth a few casts too.

    	Good luck...RAYJ

Ray Dodier....I was just asking Tony Waitkevich if he ever heard from
    you!

Yes, Tiny is up in Merrimack...making my life miserable again! If he
comes up here one more time to ask if I'll take him fishing I'll
scream. I don't know who is worse...him or Don Mac!

Good to hear from ya. Ever see Buzz around?
