1421.0. "1990 Cape Cod (saltwater)" by DUGGAN::PLUMLEY () Tue May 29 1990 18:28

Since there doesnt appear to be a 1990 Cape Cod note, I'll
start one. I was on Pleasant Bay this past Friday, Saturday and
Sunday. Flounder fishing seemed to be pretty good. I saw several
boats with good sized fish. Lots of people were fishing the flats in
little pleasant bay and the area south of Strong Island. (South =
towards the break (?)) It wasnt clear whether they were plugging for bass
or looking for fluke. Bass fishing from the shore was pretty active at
Nickerson Neck and I marked lots of bait in the channel between the neck
and Strong Island. The folks at Ryder's Marina mentioned a 40lb bass and
I spoke to several people who caught schoolies. No sign of blue fish
and no sign of the seals.

    Yo,

I was down the Cape for the Forth of July and the Bluefish were
hitting at a number of beaches. I grabbed a few at Sunken Meadown
in Eastham and heard of a few more being taken all up the coast.
Most of the action has been on the Bay side- so I was told. The blues
I caught weren't as big as the ones we usually catch. Then again we
    usually fish during Aug-Oct.
I did get a chance to fish the Ocean side looking for a monster
Bass at Lacountes Hollow in Wellfleet, but I did not land any. I did
however have a huge hit using a live eel. Ripped the damn eel right
off! Have you ever tried to put a hook through an eels head? They are
very tough, plus they are not the easiest things to handle. No More
hits after that- the waves were 6 to 8 feet which makes it a little
    tough to fish.

Well I'll be cabk down in August fishing all night looking for that
    50lb stripper!
