1410.0. "Western Sportsmen's Association" by CSC32::R_GROVER (The CIRCUIT_MAN) Mon May 14 1990 09:38

Didn't see a note/topic on this, so I'm writing a new one. I have also
cross-post this in the RV notesfile.

The family took a drive yesterday up through Palmer Lake (stopped and
let the boys fish for about an hour) and then back in through Monument
just sightseeing... when we came across a campground in Monument. This
campground does show up in the Good Sam catalog and has a "6/6" rating,
but it does not show up in woodall.

This campground is a "Western Sportsmen's Association(WSA)" owned
facility that is open to the public.. but you can not fish unless you
    are a member of WSA..

My question is, does anyone know anything about the WSA and this
campground. Is it worth the membership fees ($595.00 initial fee, and
$35.00 per month) to join such an organization. In listening to the
guy run his "pitch", he indicates that this WSA membership will allow a
member family to camp/fish in any of the areas owned or leased by WSA
for no additional fees/costs unless you want to rent a boat.

This "deal" sounded pretty good at first, BUT after thinking about it,
it seems to be a lot of $$$$ for a few months of fishing/camping.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. One consolation is that
for listening to this guys pitch, we get one FREE weekend to "try it
    out" on Memorial Day weekend.
