    Glad you enjoyed the fish. (You certainly caught your share) Did the
    airline charge you more for all that weight? (He had a picnic cooler 
    half full of trout, bass and catfish) Seeing all that fish was great.

    Carol, and other Atlanta fisherpeople,
    
    I'll be in Atlanta Nov 12-14th.  I'd like to come down a day early
    or stay a day late, and do a little fishing.  Any chance on hooking up
    with anyone around that time?

    I could probably put you on a Deer at that time of year and we could
    probably get in a little fishing in the Flint river after hunting, but 
    it might be a bit cold wading. I have been known to wade a bit chasing
    Deer on the river islands at that time of year, so it wouldn't bother me.

    Thanks Bobby.  Carol has already sent me mail and offered to get
    together.  I'll keep ya posted.  I would enjoy meeting a few folks from
    down that way.  Hey SSS, you still with us?  I recall you responding to

    I think I'm about 3.5 hours from Atlanta.  I know I'm 1.5 hours from
    Chattanooga 'cause some of my accounts are down there and I think it's
    another 2 hours from there.
    
    Normally, I'd drop everything and join you.  Unfortunately, I have
    another kid (#4!!!) due in early December and probably shouldn't be that
    far from home just in case the little $#%^%$%^, I mean darlin' comes early.
    
    If the moods strikes ya and you want to come a little further north to
    Tennessees for the worlds BEST smallmouth fishing, I could probably 
    justify being, say, an hour or so from home as long as I bring the ol' 
    cellular uno along.
    
    If not, hey, we'll connect again one of these days.  I shoulda called
    someone while I was up at DECworld.  I had a good time but would rather
    have been fishing.

    Steve, congrats on the additional fishing buddy!  You're going to need 
    a bigger boat for that brood of yours!
    
    I'd love to try some of that smallie fishing, not sure if we'll be able
    to work it out, but we can give it a shot.  I'll get back to ya.

    I'll be in Atlanta this Sat-Thurs for the CSI conference.  My former 
    fellow NH bass cluber Carol Thompson has aranged a guide for us on Lake 
    Lanier for Sunday! If there are any other fishing noters down that way
    who'd care to get together for a beer some evening, I'd be glad to meet 
    ya.  I'll be staying at the Atlanta Hilton, give me a ring. -donmac

    I can't let another day go by this week and not put in a little note in
    the  Fishing Notes file on one or two more good reasons for living and
    fishing in Georgia.
    
    Last Sunday morning Mr. Don MacIntyre and I went fishing on Lake Lanier
    (by boat, no ice augers involved) with one of my favorite guides. Once
    across the lake, Mac cast twice and caught his first Striped Bass. Now
    this was about 4 pounds which is a schoolie for Stripers but a good
    catch on the second cast.
    
    We fished for another hour or so and I hooked into what felt like a
    monster. (Let me adlib for a while) I played the devil for what seemed
    like hours (could only have been a few minutes), kept my tip up as best
    I could and as the catch got near the boat, saw that flash of belly and
    knew it was a winner. I didn't know how much of a winner until the
    guide netted the catch and hauled it into the boat.
    
    Well, to make a looooong Geogia tale short, I hauled in, not 1 but 2,
    4 pound Tennessee Spotted bass. Both little devils wanted the lure and
    both had their way. When I finally calmed down, took of a sweatshirt
    I realized one more of the benefits of Southern life.
    
    Hope you all can have the same kind of adventure some day. Shame that
    fishing isn't an Olympic event, I might have to try out for the Summer
    Games here in Atlanta 1996. ;-)
    
    

    Sounds like you had a great day...even with Don Mac in the boat.
    
    You never said anything else about Don.  Did he ever catch another
    fish?  I'm just curious!  I'm actually doing a study on Don.  I
    realized after the last tourney that Don is GREAT at picking GREAT
    partners.
    
    It's just as well fishing isn't an Olympic event.  I'd enter...shoot my
    mouth off all the way to 1996....and then make a ass of
    myself..NATION WIDE.

    What was the lure you were using...when the Double Header was taken?

    Carol, thanks again for your hospitality.  I had a great time!  That
    was my first striper and alot of fun.  And I have never seen anything
    quite like your catching 2 BIG bass at once!! 
    
    No, Legend, I didn't catch any other fish.  The 3 fish mentioned were
    the only ones caught.  The guide didn't even catch a fish and he was
    actively fishing all day.  A serious cold front had come thru a day or
    two earlier and appeared to have really turned the fish off. 
    
    When Carol pulled up those 2 hawgs at once we thought we were going to be 
    in for some great action, maybe a school of these babies stacked up.  But 
    we hit that area to death without another bite.
    
    Carol got the 2 fish on a large minnow type shallow runner, possibly a 
    redfin.  Big bait, striper size.
    
    Anyway, it was a beautiful day and we had a real good time, and we
    caught a few fish to boot.
