| Doug,I live down in carver.I took a ride down that way about 3 weeks
ago. There were several guys fishing, but no action.Let me know how
you make out.I here its very good,but I haven't fished it yet.Long
pond in plymouth off of route 3 is supposed to be excellant for
big holdover browns and big smallmouths. It's deepest point is 102
feet.I plan on fishing it a lot this year.
Good Luck

1376.2 | Hamblin's pond hitting | FSHQA2::EPETERSEN | | Sun Apr 15 1990 03:28 | 7 |
| Hi,
I went to Hamblin Pond in Barnstable and limited out, using Power
Bait made by Berkeley. This was last Sunday and the Sunday before.
The orange or pink work best on a #10 hook with a 18" to 24" leader
Ricci.

| Hi Ed,
If you're familiar with the boat launch, not the one near the beach,
but the one east of the cemetery, launch your boat there and go
directly across the pond. It is usually calm, try soaking power
bait or worms. I have caught some nice brownies there.
I have seen one or two people flyfishing but never stopped to talk
to them.
Also, believe it or not they put 1,000 muskies in there last fall
to eliminate the perch!!!!
The pond also has smallmouth bass, but I've never got any much over
1 lb.

| Typical assanine management techniques. When the perch are gone, the tiger
muskie will suck down those trout pretty damn fast

My club just had a tournament on Long pond in Brewster
on 4/13.This is a dynamite smallie pond.Winning weight
was 5 bass at 14lbs and change and from what I've heard
the weekend before had a tourney and there was a similar
weigh-in.
Also try Lake Wequequet in Barnstable? it has some nice
largemouth and pickeral as long as your arm (lots).
