| | Also, while we're discussion trout habits, does anyone have experience
with their feeding patterns, for instance, do they feed heavily at
certain times like first thing in the morning and at dusk. Seems like
when I've fished at Walden I arrive just in time to miss the action...

I'm no trout expert but the places you've just desribed are good Bass
hangouts. Most of the Trout are up at the North end of the lake which sounds
like you never went up that far. The north end of the lake at the back of the
Fallon Clinic has the deepest water and that's where you'll see most folks
fishing for Trout. Good luck.

I was out 3/24 and 3/25. Spotted alot of trout on the graph between
the 290 bridge and the house that everyone fishes from. I was in 16
feet and the trout were down 10 feet. Caught 1 on a gitzit. Also
on the other side of the lake in front of Sunset Beach. I watched a
couple of kids clean-up eith some nice 15" rainbo's. These fish were
shallow and in the weeds in 7 feet of water.

    Hard to figure--

| | I almost caught a 16" rainbow on webster saturday with a smoke gitzit. It
came up at in on the way out of the water. It saw the boat the started
back down. I stop the bait and started to lower my rod it, the trout
came back up and slamed it, Well I slammed back, oops trout lips are
    not like bass :^(

    Bassin Bob,
If all you were catching was the LIPS, that is going to take a LONG
TIME to fill a frying pan. BESIDES, if you set the hook HARD enough,
you will likely BREAK THEIR NECKS. Then, they just float up to the
surface. :-) All I can say is that I hope the weather is good enough
to go Toothy Critter hunting this weekend.

| | WANT TROUT, out of quinsig, heres where to go, from land or boats.
if your next to fallon cln. looking at the water, go left towards
the armery, after you go under the 290 passover, follow the water
all the way to the end and you'll come to a nice big cove and you
can find them from there, i dont think i need to give an exact loca.
but most of the cove area is great for fishing and from shore theres
a lot of prime locations for fishing in the area. PS if you cant
get any out of that area, i'll let you know where the pine trees
were dropped, not that i fish that area often, but i like to take
a few home now and then.

another nice place for trout is off mill street in worc, across
from the big d, i cant remember the name, OH YA!!! COES POND, has
some beuties in it also,,, PS, DONT FORGET THE POWER BAIT, Pink
works great in both places, so i never bothered w/the yellow.

    			hope this helps.

HEY Gary, when are we going to hit dorothy pond so i can show you
    the private/public boat ramp?

| | Thanks for all the info, but apparently I was doing everything right.
Over the weekend I caught 2 real nice (14"-16") Rainbows. I used
Shrimp scented Marshmellos with a piece of Corn. I caught both fish
just beyond the 290 overpass, up near the Armory. I also heard they
stocked this area of Quinsig on Monday afternoon, but I don't know how
    true this is.

Two toned gitzit. 2 1/2" dark blue top (almost black) and bright blue
tail for rainbo's. The smoked seems to work better for the browns.
It is a little tricky with a 2 ought hook though.

| | Thanks Ronni, I will have to check that out. I know there is a big
hump/flat there loaded with a good week bed. I never say any trees
before. I will pay more attention this year.
