BTW I think Comet raised their motor size restriction.

| I was a Comet last Saturday, they raised the limit to 20 horsepower.
Just make sure you have all your registration papers in order.
The Environmental Police patrol it regularly.

1366.5 | Another Restriction Question | SALEM::PAPPALARDO | | Fri Mar 23 1990 12:01 | 11 |
| Since the previous note before this one asked about restrictions
I figured this would be a good one to ask for information. As
access seems to be becoming more and more of a problem it seems
that motor size restriction could really come into play on lakes
were acces isn't. Now, my question is where can you get a listing
of all the bodies of water to find out "IF" there are any restrictions?
The two states that come to mind for me are New Hampshire and
Massachusetts.

| Yep, its up to 20 hp now I hear.
I think the prop removal is right, but stupid. It takes 1 min to put
it on or off. Whats the big deal?
I like to use my bow mount trolling motor for trolling (Makes sense).
But I like to leave the gas motor down and use it as my tiller steering.
That way I don't have to be in the front steering, I can just use the
wheel. I dont know if they will let you get away with that either.

| Maybe prop removal seems stupid, but it's easier than motor removal!
And it removes any question about whether or not you intend to use the
big motor.

| Guy, for starters in New Hampshire you can get a Clarks Guide book that
list all lakes and access. I do believe they do have restrictions
listed in some form. You can purchase the book at Northern Bass Supply
for around $10.

Thanks Don, I have just purchased that book but haven't
read it as of yet. With the trout season on us in Mass. my main
concern for the next couple of weeks will be the area ponds.

1366.8 | Trout Info | WJOUSM::BOURGAULT | | Mon Mar 26 1990 13:54 | 10 |
| Guy, if it's area trout locations, you might want to purchase a book
by Roger Aziz Outdoor writer for the Eagle Tribune. It's called "Tight
Lines" he gives a lot of information on area ponds and lakes Mass/N.H.
talks about the species available and has a map of each lake with
areas to fish for each species. It also identifies boat launches and
how to get to them, along with lures and presentation style to use.
It cost around $7.00 and is available at the Eagle tribune office or
by mail. You'll have to call the Tribune if you order by mail I don't
have the address. Every Sunday he has an article in the paper and he
usally has the address in there.

| I should have specified it's the Lawrence Eagle Tribune in Mass.
If you are coming from the south on rte 495 you take rte 114 toward
Middleton, as you drive up the hill the Tribune is on your left about
3/4 of a mile from the highway. If you go by the burger king you went
to far. I hope this helps!
