    Hi, (again)

I'm going to be visiting my in-laws in Myrtle Beach, SC during the
middle of April. I understand that there is some pretty good fishing to
be had at Lake Marion and I'd like to try it while I'm in the area.

So if anybody has some information on the best Guide Service, lures,
bait, gear, etc... I'd love to hear from you. I'm open to suggestion if
you know of a better spot.

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Jack

| Hi Jack

I used to live in Summerville/Charlston while I was in Uncle Sams Canoe
Club. I did not get an awful lot of time to go fishing, But some really
good places are Lake Marion & Lake Moultrie. The stock them with
freshwater Striped Bass that get pretty big. The Catfish are
Humoungous! You may want to try renting a johnboat and fishing the
Ashley/Cooper rivers. In Charlston past the bridge you can catch salt
water fish. Be carful as the river can blow up choppy and there is a
lot of commercial, Naval traffic on it.

Further upstream, you will find Bass & Cats. The weather is usually
pretty good in April. I don't know of any guides, since I usually like
to just explore new places on my own & don't use guides. You may want
to stop into a local bar/ I mean Tackle Shop & ask around. Some good
ol'e Bubba's might take you out fishing for a reasonable cost.

| Jack, if your a suscriber to Bassmaster Magazine you can write to them
and they will send you an info sheet on everything you need to know
for the lake and area. I've done it on a couple occasions and the
sheets are helpful. They give information on launches boat rentals
liscence and types of baits you need for the time of year. If you don't
suscribe have someone else request it for you.
