Both Chauncy's ae real easy to get to. Just go east on route 9
from worcester, go past the Honalulu restaraunt on your right
and at the next set of lights take a left. There will be a Burger
King on the left side of route 9. Just go up this street, Whatever
the name of it is, until you see the lake on the left. If you take
a left at the beach and go up a little ways and take a right, that
will take you to the boat ramp. A possible place to start/meet.

To get to little chauncy go past BC, past the school/home for bad
boys, till you see a sign on the left saying "Fishermans access
    to Little chauncy.

If there is to be another tourney you can count me in on this one.
i know I said I would make it to the last one but the night before
the tourney my wife got into an accident and got a little banged
up. So i decided to be a good guy and stay home with her. Next time
    though look out........

I haven't seen or heard of much caught there the last couple of weeks
seem's maybe the word got out to a few too many.... I work right near there
and stop by at lunch time alot to check it out and talk to people fishing
there. My buddy went fishing there Wednesday from 9 - 2 without a flag...
Of course it must of been that he's not as good a fisherman as the Johnny
Roach cause I never gone and not gotten a Flag... ( symbol for smiley face
goes here )

1302.9OFFICIAL RULES...IAMOK::POMEROYFri Jan 12 1990 18:2773
                        OFFICIAL RULES
                        **************

    1) HAVE FUN !!!!!!

    2) Violaters of rule #1 will be banned from all future tournaments.

    3) Any bait can be used during the tournament as long as it meets
any Massachusetts Division of Wildlife and Fisheries standards.

    4) Only 5 lines per person will be allowed in the water. (This is a
       MWF rule)

    5) We will be meeting at the ramp a 7:00 for check-in. After you
sign-in, you can dig your holes, but NO tip-ups in the water
until 7:30. After 7:30, you can find me at the scale in a centrally
       located spot.

    6) The final weigh-in will be at 2:00 p.m.

By MWF law, you are only allowed one PIKE and one MUSKIE per day.
If you catch a good size one and it dies before you weigh it in,
this will be the fish that is used for your final weight. I
suggest that if you catch a keeper, bring it over to the scales
to be weighed in and return it to the water and keep trying for a
       bigger one.

            SPECIES MINIMUM SIZE QUANTITY
            ******* ************ ********

            Largemouth Bass 12" 5

PAY-OFFS will be as follows: (Two fish from each species will receive a
    pay-off:

           Heaviest NORTHERN PIKE - 15%
           2nd Heaviest NORTHERN PIKE - 10%

           Heaviest TIGER MUSKIE - 15%

           Heaviest LARGEMOUTH BASS - 15%
           2nd Heaviest LARGEMOUTH BASS - 10%

If we don't have both slots filled in for each fish, the breakdown
    will be:

    Example:

          Pike Bass Pickerel Muskie
          15% 15% 15% -
          10% 10% - -

    left- 0% 0% 10% 25% = 35%

35% will be divided by the number of catagories that had fish
caught, (in this ase 35/3 or 11.6%) then a multiplier for the
slots filled for each species, (.6 for first, .4 for second)

    7) (The BUD CREW asked me to add this rule...)

I wouldn't mind starting a bit earlier too, like starting at 7:00
instead of 7:30... the fishing seems best early in the a.m., and
there should be enough light by then. But I'm not organizing,
	so whatever is best...

Moose,

I was at Chauncy Wednesday at lunchtime and the ice was soft
around the edges but you could get on w/o getting wet. It looked to be about
4"-6" thick. i went fishing at A1 Wednesday nite and had to make a bridge out
of logs to get on the ice and it seemed alot more melted than Chauncy with
3"-6 " average but there were some man size holes were there was only a 1/2"
of ice covering them, not to much fun to find accidentally.
I am debating whether or not to go out this weekend. I think If you
want to go out pick a lake were you know the thin ice areas like springs,
inlet, outlets, rocks. If you are with someone all the better, cause you can
keep a pole or rope handy. I go alone alot, my plan is to wear a life vest
and stick close to home.

1302.27Tournament CANCELLEDIAMOK::POMEROYTue Feb 13 1990 13:087
I checked out Chauncey this past weekend, and saw a few people
out on the ice, but it seemed to be pulling away from the sides
already. So I have decided to cancel the tournament for this
reason (thinning-ice) and a lack of interest...

Just to let you guys know it's still cold west of Worcester! At
Hamden Ponds about a mile from the Westfield Plant we fished on
13 inches of ice a couple of days ago. Not much open water. Probably
will be after this rain and warm-up the next couple of days though.
