1282.0. "German fishes???" by CSC32::SCHIMPF () Wed Dec 06 1989 12:26
I need any and all info. regarding fishing in Germany--
Specifically the types of fish that are available to fish. My uncle
lives in Berlin, and after talking with him; I found out that he is
just starting to fish. The problem is the prices he has to pay for
equipment, lures and such are outragous. i have already sent him a
couple reels, now I would like to send him some lures. I asked what
types of fish he fishes for and he couldn't give me the German too
English translation. Therefor, I have no idea of what types of lure,
etc. to send him.
Thanks....
Jeff

| I've never fished in Germany, but I understand are trout (brown)
and pike in some of the rivers. I seem to recall that carp and
their close relatives are also popular targets as well.
- cant speak for the saltwater.

| I remeber him saying something about Carp..Relatives??? Please Expound.
What would one use to fish for carp and kin? I have fished for regular
carp, but I used jigs when they were in the weeds lay'n eggs. I think
that method is illeagle in Germany. Thanks for the response!

You might post this in MTBLUE::FlyFish also. There seems to be a
lot of European participation in that conferance.

Have him buy a local fishing magazine and circle the fish that he wants
to hunt as well as the bait he would like to purchase with the U.S.
equivalent price and you will have some fairly intelligent information
to deal with.
