1276.0. "PIKE FISHING UK" by SHAPES::FRAZERA () Fri Nov 10 1989 10:45

    I am interested in starting Pike fishing, but I am a complete novice in
    this area of the sport!

    Can anyone give me any tips on tackle, baits, and techniques?

    All replies welcome.

    P.S. I belong to a club in Sussex, England.

    Try looking at entries 368, 523, and 944. They might help you out.

    Nancy,
          thanks for the suggestions, they made interesting reading, and
    saved me a lot of time searching through the notes.

    I've also had a mail reply from Wayne Hunter, also from the States, which
    was very much appreciated but makes me wonder if their are any UK
    anglers listening in to this notes file.

    discuss here, or mail me..

1276.4Try the Thames or Kennet.SHAPES::BROWNMWed Jan 17 1990 08:4010
    FRAZERA,

    I work in the Crescent Basingstoke. I know a little bit about UK
    piking. Mail me, note here or whatever.

    One tip. Join Reading & District AA. They have loads of Pike waters
    that contain fish up to 30lb.

    Hi,

      another Englander, try weir pools at the Thames lock at King's
    Meadow near Reading. Deadbait on a trace works best, might catch
    a couple of 'orrible eels though...

     cheers,  andy
