| I fished there June 1988 with a friend, we each had our own boats
- Crawdads.
Its very pretty. Supposed to have trout but we did not catch any.
Worms or spinning.
No motors of any kind allowed.
For trout fishing (worm/spinning/trolling) I would recommend either
Perch Pond in Campton or Spectacle Pond just north west of Newfound
Lake. Access directions in Clarks or the NH Atlas & Gazetteer. Both
these locations are a little farther south than Russell Pond.

This pond seems to get heavy fishing pressure,it is part of
the state campground.I was up there Memorial Day and several
guys had their limit.Seemed like it was just stocked.I figure
its stocked several times during the summer to keep the
tourists happy. It is a nice looking pond, wonder if theres
any holdovers?

1188.3 | Trout taken early | HAZEL::DELISLE | | Tue Aug 01 1989 10:00 | 9 |

I've camped there a few times with a scout troop and have seen
a few trout taken early in the season, (cold water and just stocked
I imagine). There is a lot of traffic around the lake because of
the State park business. It is a beautiful lake though. Have fun.

| I have fished there many times and only pulled small trout out (9"),
and very early A.M. at that.
