1172.0. "NH VACATION BOAT INFO" by DEMING::MATTSON () Tue Jun 20 1989 13:36

New Hampshirites,

    	I'm taking vacation at the end of July and have rented a place
    up on Winne close to the Wiers Beach area. Could you fellow
    fisherpersons from NH tell me how I go about getting my boat legal
    to use it. The place has it's own dock and I can't pass up this
    opportunity.
    	I'm presently registered in Mass right now. Here we have to
    go the the Tax office and register it in the Recreational Vechile
    office. I've heard you can register your boat at Marinas or Bait
    shops up there. Is this true? What would the cost be? Is it easier
    to register it before hand or wait till I get their? Also what does
    a one week non resident fishing license go for. Any info would be
    greatly appreciated.

    					thanks,
    						Gary

     Garry, it cost me $27 to register my boat for the year and I have
    a 1988 14' Sea-Nyph with a 20 hp Merc. and the answer is YES you
    can register your boat at a Marine. I don't know how thats going
    to work if your boat already has MA registration numbers on it.
    Here's the phone number for Green's Marine in Hooksett N.H. if
    you want to call and find out about cost on your boat. 603-485-5131

    Sorry I don't have any info on the non-resident fishing license
    maybe some else can help you.

1172.2liscense priceARGUS::BISSELLWed Jun 21 1989 10:038
I bought an annual liscence last year including cold water fish (trout etc)
and it was $30, other variations were less expensive but I figured I would
be there for four or five occasions and this was the better deal.

Good luck with the fishing

Ref .0   Gary,

	I bought my registration at Winham Marine in Winham, N.H., cost for
my boat was $14, 12' Alum Sea Nymph w/ 9.8 Merc...Registation sticker looks
like ours in Mass, it is to be put on to the left of your Mass numbers, it
explains it well on the back of the sticker....Your boat would cost maybe a
couple of $$$ more...It wasn't painfull at all..

1172.4Thanks and one more Question.DEMING::MATTSONTue Jun 27 1989 10:309
    Guys,
    	Thanks for the info on the boat registration. I'm getting the
    number to the local Marina up there and will see if I can do it
    through the mail. If not I'll be there first thing in the morning
    when they open the day I get there. One more question,do you have
    to go to a Marina or can you also register your boat at a BAIT/TACKLE
    shop. I heard rumors that this was also true?
                                       thanks,

1172.5NO TO BAIT/TACKLE SHOPSCSSE::JUDSONWhat do you mean it isn't supportedTue Jun 27 1989 13:3712
Gary,

It is my understanding that you cannot get the registation at Bait/tackle
shops...I tried to get it at the K-Mart in Salem ans was advised that only
marina's had them....

Good Luck,

Bruce (bigbird)
