| Nauset beach is open for four wheel drive. The usual restrictions
apply. I'd check with the c of c in Orleans for sure, but I think
it will cost you $80. for a sticker.
-sorry - dont know about the outer cape beachs

Contact the Ranger station at the Cape Codd Nat'l. Seashore. They
will explain their (restrictive) rules and regs.
Also, try to contact a member of the Mass. Beach Buggy Assoc. Since
the main goal of the Assoc. is to preserve 4wd access to the beaches,
they are up-to-date on all the rules and open ramps. (Think about
joining the MBBA as well...help the effort!)

| The Nauset beach sticker was $85.00 last year, and you must have
safety equipment; tow rope/chain, jack, board to support the jack
etc. You also must have at least P225R15 tires to get out there.
They dont make exceptions eithier. If you ask me its not worth it
if you only plan to go out a few times.
Race point, at the tip of the cape, is $45.00 and same rules apply
plus there is more action at race anyway! This is a little more
reasonable too. There is also Sandy point/neck? but I dont know
what the sticker costs there.
Another option would be Plum Island, although it is not on the cape,
The sticker was free last year, all you needed was your safety equipment
(which are common sense stuff anyway) and they are more leanent on the
tires (I got out there in my s-15 Jimmy w/ P215R15's.

| re: .3
Plum Island stickers are now $25.- plus you need to pay $5. for
a day permit or $10. for a season permit. Guess they figure that'll
limit the amount of people to just serious fisherpeople like ourselves!

1166.6 | Cheap compared to NJ | NYJMIS::HORWITZ | Beach Bagel | Tue Jun 20 1989 12:58 | 25 |
| re: Fees
Boy...things sure are cheap in N.E. !!
Down here in NJ, Island Beach S.P. costs $125 for a season sticker
(limited numbers available), or $15 for a 72 hour permit.
The other towns that allow vehicles on the beach all require their
own stickers which range from ~$25 on up. (some of these towns have
only a mile or so of beach).
Also, we face other restrictions down here...
IBSP only allows 500 vehicles on the beach at one time. AND,
you must park perpendicular to the waterline. ...oh yeah...
the Park is DRY! (don't even think about bringing a single can
of beer with you.)
Most of the towns don't allow buggy access between Memorial
Day and Labor Day.
Etc. Etc...
ANd then there are the jerks who build 1/2 million dollar houses
on barrier beaches and complain 'cause someone is fishing on
"their beach".

PS...I'm looking for a contact # for the MBBA.
