1132.0. "N.E. Bass'n Gals ??????" by STOWMA::LANGE (Toxic Waste Pinata) Thu May 11 1989 13:45

Ok ....Most of us have heard of "Bass'n Gal" trail from the more
    southern states right?

Most of the FISHING noters here are men, with a few exceptions...maybe
more women read this than we know, but just don't write, for what ever
    reasons...

    ANYWAY....

Do you think that a New England "Bass'n Gal" ferderation would get off
    the ground?

Do you have wives, girlfriends,or just know women that love to fish, and
would love to be part of an organization such as a bass fishing
    club/federation?

Guy's....Wouldn't it be something to be standing at the weigh-in,full
of anticipation, to see if your wife/girlfriend landed the
lunker,...put a hole in your boat?....demolished your brand new
stainless steel prop?...kicked your favorite baitcaster over board?...

    All kidding aside...
If this sort of thing was to become reality, do you know many women
    that would go for this?

Comments, feedback welcome....I need some response to this.

    					Thanks

Jeff, I bet John Easter could fill us in on Bassin' Gal info. If
I'm not mistaken Sandy Flanders, his friend and partner for last
weekend's NH Open (which she won) is one of the top Bassin Gals
    in the country.

Ya, there is already some sort of Bass N' Gals federation. I
usually see them every year at the Pawtuckaway tourny. This was
the first year in the last five that I haven't fished it but I'm
    sure they're still around.

Yep Don, she did do an excellent job and she did work hard for it.
Sandra Flanders fishes the national Bass-n-Gals tournament trail.
They have a N.H. Federation and I do believe that Mass. also
has one and I expect to learn alot from Sandra because I'am fishing
the local ABA Tournament Trail with her. If you (Jeff) need anymore
info. on the Bass-n-Gals you can call Sandra at 424-4946 (603),
    thats in Merrimack, N.H.

    Regards, John.

    Thanks all...

Sandra Flanders....she wouldn't happen to be any relation to the N.H.
B.A.S.S Federation Vice President, Jim Flanders would she?
1132.5Yep! Yep! Yep!SALEM::EASTERFri May 12 1989 10:079
You got it!!! But they don't usually fish tournaments together.
Different styles you know!! Jim would have fished the Pawtuckaway
tournament differently by going to the dropoffs where as Sandry
stuck to the VERY shallow shore line where the males were up tight
in the brush. This is not to say that Jim is not a good fisherman,
I also fish alot with Jim and he has taught me alot about bass fishing.
    Just different styles!
