1116.0. "NH Lakes Region Lakes/Ponds Other Than Winni" by MCIS2::LEE () Wed Apr 26 1989 13:09

    I've seen many notes about people living/playing on Winni and
    Winnisquam, but how about other lakes/ponds in the area. I have
    property on Pine River Pond and wonder if we have any DEC'ies in
    this area. I'm also interested in quality of the fishing in the
    area.

1116.1Suncook PondSALEM::WENTWORTHFri Apr 28 1989 17:539
    Suncook Pond in Barnstead, NH. Pretty good bass population, Large
    mouth and small mouth. Good pickeral. Being over run with yellow
    perch (esp. Lower Suncook). Lower pond fairly shallow ( 15 ft deep),
    upper pond deeper (45 ft) and slightly larger. Best bass structure
    on upper is along north east shore and down by the large rock (there
    is a ridge that runs north from the large rock about 300-400 feet,
    water is only about 3-4 ft deep at best, grabs a lot of props).
    Lower pond is best around the islands. Ponds are connected by a
    400 ft channel, boat launch is on the channel.

    Will be taking my canoe to a campground a few miles north of
    Wolfeboro, NH. Would appreciate any advice on what's good this
    time of year, access, nice place for a small boat, etc.

    Thanks.
