I would like to know if the level of mercury in the Clinton Resevoir
has drop? Is it safe to eat?

Last I heard is no women,in the child bearing years,or children should
eat any fish from the Wachusett Res. and Men should only consume a 5
oz. portion per week.
(not enough to fill one's big toe)...

Is it true that you no longer need an MDC permit to fish Wachusett?
Its been a long time since I fished it...

It's true, no permit needed. I would advise reading the posted
regulations before you fish though. They are usually posted at
all parking areas and gates. The MDC police patrol it regularly
and DO enforce the rules.
