1046.0. "5 Pound Smallie" by MPGS::SALVIF () Wed Mar 22 1989 08:57

Just a question to those of you that might have had some Bass
          mounted.
Last May, my partner and I took a break form the Winni Derby
and decided to fish for some Smallies at Squam Lake, I was
Lucky enough to get a 5 lb. Smallie, I decided to have it
mounted, unfortunately the thing is still in my freezer, its
was wrapped in newspaper then it was put in a plastic bag to
be frozen, does anyone know if its still ok to be mounted??
I guess i'm concerned about freezer burn, and all the nasty
things that could happen to anything left in a freezer for such
a long time. I hope its not too late, I dont know when the next
time will be for such a nice Smallie.

          Thanks a lot,

          Frank

A friend of mine had his 27Lb salmon mounted after 4 months in the
freezer and it came out excellent. He had Bass Pro do it and I was
impressed with the way it looked.

I also know someone who had a fish in the freezer for a long time
(over a year I think) and it came out ok.

    Try a DIR/KEY=TAXIDERMY

Definitely give Bass Pro Shops' Wild Life Creations a thought.

My fishing buddy had his 8-1/4# bucketmouth mounted at the place on Massabesic
Circle in Manchester. Except for the fact that I should have caught it,
it looks real good. Their number is 603-625-9958.

I taught him everything he knows...
