| Having been raised in PA, I would like to be able to give you some
pointers. Fact is I never heard of Indiana PA.
I will say that you will probably be there at a good time. This
should be right after the opening of trout season.
Good luck,
Brett.

927.4 | Yes Virginia, there is and Indiana | MJOFS::OWENS | Oh sure...ABUSE THE ALIEN | Tue Dec 27 1988 14:19 | 22 |
| Indiana is indeed a town in Pennsylvania located on rte 422 west
of Ebensburg Pa and Altoona. And there is also an Indiana Univ. there.
NOW for fishing..
The Pennsylvania fish commision booklet "Warm Water Fishing in
Pa." lists..
Lake Acreage type of fish
Blue Spruce lake 12 Large Mouth
Hemlock lake 60 Large Mouth, Northerns, Walleye
Mahoning Creek 10 miles Small Mouth, Northerns
Yellow Creek lake 720 Large Mo, North, Muski, Walleye
I don't have any info on trout streams in the area
As far as hot spots east on 80 NEVER, NEVER, NEVER (I repeat never)
miss the Susquehanna river in May. You will cross the East Branch
around Berwick, Pa. the North Branch (possibly the best) around
Williamsport Pa. and then rte 80 runs parallel to the west branch
for quite a distance. May is spawn time and the fish are feisty
and big. Special regs are in effect though so check your rule book.

927.5 | sources of info for Pa. fishing | WHYVAX::MARSHALL | | Wed Dec 28 1988 10:32 | 18 |
| Hi. I thought I would offer some additional sources of info.
I have a 1987 Summary of Fishing Regs booklet for Pa. It lists the
stocked waters for all the counties, including Indiana. It also
has a form on the back page to order books on fishing in Pa.
I also have a leaflet that offers to send you free info on trout
and bass fishing, summary of rules, etc.
If you want to reply with your mailstop, I'll be glad to send these
to you.
I never fished around Indiana, Pa. but the state is very beautiful
at that time of year. The mountain laurel is in bloom about 50
miles north of Indiana in Cooks Forest.

I'd have to agree that Pa. is a beautiful state. At any time
of year.
Please - keep the replys coming as spring's a long Long LONG
time off and I've got plenty of time to plan.
