808.0. "White Marlin fishing partners needed ASAP!" by VIDEO::LEVESQUE (I fish, therefore I am.) Mon Jul 25 1988 09:36

Fishing Partners for this Saturday needed!!!!!!!!

    Fellow Noters-

Due to the fact that my wife is busily manufacturing a future
fisherman/fisherwoman, she will not be able to come fishing with
me this weekend. I am going white marlin fishing out of Falmouth,
and I urgently need 2 (count 'em two) additional people to be able
to go. Otherwise, I will be relegated to bluefishing or cancelling
(bad psyche). The cost per fisherman will be ~$140 or less, including
the tip. Under no circumstances will it cost more than $140 (if
we have a total of five people). Right now I have two other people
    besides myself.

If anybody is not busy on Saturday and can afford $140 for a shot
at white marlin- PLEASE respond ASAP! I really don't want to cancel
    this trip.

    The Doctah (of_fear_and_loathing)

PS- anybody who has a subscription to Saltwater Sportsman-
The article in the August issue about light tackle white marlin
was written by the mate of the boat that we're going out on.
    It'll really get you going!

I am kinda a bit south of the port you will be sailing from by about
300 miles or so. If it was not quite as far of a drive, I would
have taken the trip. Regardless, I will be interested to find out
how you made out up there. If you could, please post a reply here
and let me know what I was missing. All the best of luck to you!

    Vinnie.

    Aloha Doctah:

Unfortunately I too am a little too far south being in Atlanta,
Ga. Also, having just come back from Hawaii my better half would
not look kindly to my hopping a plane up your way to soak some bait.

Good luck. Hope you get your first billfish. Keep us posted on your
    results.

Alas, my program has been cancelled. I have been sent to limbo-
where my new full time job is to find a new full time job.

Under these circumstances, with no positive response, I have been
forced to cancel the marlin trip. sob!

Lest you guys feel too bad for me, I've still got a tuna trip scheduled
for the end of August. I'll get a bill next year.

    Steve-

The captain is Tony Tolentino of the Cygnet in Falmouth, Ma.
He can be found using directory assistance, or I'll try to remember
to bring his # in tomorrow. He's an excellent Capt. He won the Oak
bluffs shark tourney this year. If you want to go out with him,
I suggest you contact him by late March. Otherwise, all of the best
    dates will be taken.
