791.1 | Lake Lanier is GREAT! | SCOMAN::WOOLDRIDGE | Worm fishermen have stiffer rods | Mon Jul 11 1988 10:27 | 14 |
YO! Unhappy fisherman! My folks lived in Ga. for a spell and you have some of the BEST bass fishing in the country there. Try Lake Sidney Lanier in Forsythe county outside of cumming. The Buford Dam area is good. As I recall (its been 13 yrs or so) you were able to rent boats in some areas. Also try those ponds that are so tough to walk into. You will pick up chigger bites but crappie fishing is UNREAL! I understand you missing Mich./ The upper penninsula has been fished by the NIGHTCRAWLER~~~~ many times. I used to stay a week and rent a cottage and catch and eat walleye/pike like MAD. Fear not however, Georgia will do right by you ya'll. Good luck! NIGHTCRAWLER~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ | |||||
791.2 | Did someone say Michigan??? | ANGORA::MLOEWE | ALF for president! | Tue Jul 19 1988 10:28 | 7 |
I just back from two weeks vacation in Michigan (home state). Spent two days up North at Hubbard Lake and between three of us, we caught around 15 walleyes. I picked up the largest one which about 3 or 4 pounds. Great fighting fish, especially once they're near the boat, and good tasting too. Mike_L |
