    Hi Ronni,
I've been fishing Quabbin out of gate #8, and live shiners,
have been the best for lake trout, and we hit one big salmon. Also
Davis spinners which have read beads with a gold spoon, have been
hitting real good. You'll have to fish deep for the lakers as the
    water warms up.

    Good Luck
    Jim

Quabbin is my favorite place to fish... This is my 3rd year
fishing there and I *finally* caught my first laker 2 weekends
ago, a 3 lb. 23 incher. My biggest fresh water fish yet...

For Salmon, I've caught all mine using orange surface lures:
brokenback Rapala or gold/orange spoons or plain old Shad raps
have produced this year. I haven't hit any salmon on my last
3 trips there. Seems like they've hit the road for now.

As far as lakers go, .1 has it right! Also try bottom fishing
with shiners. My brotherinlaw and me have caught 3 so far bottom
fishing in about 45 feet of water. If they don't hit after a
	while, move around.

A lot of people have been catching lakers while going for Bass in
shallow waters. This will probably change as the temp rises.
I believe a 21 pounder was recently caught in 10 feet of water!

I fish out of gate 43 in Hardwick, and have had all my luck with
salmon and lakers in the Pass area and in the area of the fishing
limit at the Baffle dam (southern part).
