I was in SANTA CLARA last week and traveled to Antioc to visit my
wifes grand parents. Pops tell me that the fishing is great on
the delta. He went on to show me his freezer loaded with all kind
of fish.
My next trip to the BAY AREA will surely find me traveling with
my rod case etc.
Please tell us all you know, several of us noreasters travel to that
part of the country and are always looking for a trip...I know that
the WORM is going to SEMICON and is going after some STURGEN.
Please keep us posted

I will be traveling to the Bay area at the end of June and would
like to find some info on any Steelhead fishing going on out there
within a reasonable driving distance. Ideally, I would like to set
up a day with a reputable guide. Does anyone out there have some
quality information regarding this??? All my steelheading experience
has been compiled in Michigan streams but I have heard of the great
fishing on the West Coast. Now's my opportunity to sample it. Is
anybody out there?????

Unless some amazing changes have taken place, I believe it's still
called "THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY"

You probably mean San Pablo Bay or Cartinez Straits. The mothball
fleet is usually excellent for the big guys. Another good spot
is around the San Richmond/San Rafal bridge where the San Francisco
bay and the San Pablo Bay come together. When the herring are spawning
the Candlestick Point area is good. Be prepared for a long day
of good ole kick back fishing as the sport of Sturgeon fishing is
a sit back and wait one. Good Luck!

| The mothball fleet is an ancorage for old navy ships. You can anchor
around them to fish. As far as half day trips I'm not sure, but
there are several charters that fish around there. You might try
contacting the 'Happy Hooker" out of San Pablo Yacht Harbor. They
go for sturgeon. They can tell you of others (415)223-5388
Good fishing.
