657.0. "MARINE WEATHER FORECAST" by TOOK::SWEET (Capt. Codfish...Jeffries Ledge or Bust) Thu Mar 31 1988 16:15
There is a Marine Weather report that is updated about every 6 hours
that you can call for the Marine forcast around Mass. Bay. The
number is 617-569-3700, It is maintained by the dept. of commerce.
It gives the wind, sea's, visability for about the next 36-48hrs
for Boston Harbor, Watchhill to Merrimac River within 25 miles of
the coast, Georges Bank and sometimes Hudson Canyon.
I use it to help plan the days I want to go out and then back it
up with the VHF forcast on that morning for any changes.

657.2 | Good most of the time | TOOK::SWEET | Capt. Codfish...Jeffries Ledge or Bust | Mon Apr 04 1988 08:41 | 7 |
| The were right on for friday when joe and I went out. Winds NE 10-15
sea's 2ft or less!! In general they are pretty good but always trust
what you see and what your experience tells you. For instance I
had a day a that all weather I heard was sw 5-15 sea's 1-3 and it
turned out sw 15-30 sea's 5-10ft (that was white knuckle ride home).
