643.0. "Wilder Dam" by SALEM::ALLORE () Tue Mar 22 1988 13:20
I've made two trips up to the Connecticut R. up by Wilder
Dam. The river was clear of ice for a few hundred yards below the
dam. It is still iced over above. We tried everything from shiners
to jigs to you name it. No luck. I think the water is still much
too cold. I've been told by locals during my trips up there that
there is some hot fishing to be found up there. They say that, above
the dam, fishing upstream, you can find walleyes, northerns, small
mouth, rainbows and browns. To name a few. I'll be making more trips
there and will post the results here in this note.
Stay tuned for some possible record breaking results! (I hope)
