The boats conference deals with power boats, engine topics, and
waterskiing. Although the flavor of the conference is biased toward
waterskiing, there is lot's of expertise and info on the boats and engines
with which most of us fishing types have a love/hate relationship.

This conference deals mainly with canoes and kayaks as the topics run
mostly into whitewater rivers and canoe camping. Any questions dealing with
canoes might get expert responses from this conference. Whereas these people
also are into (to a lesser degree) camping from their canoes, they might have
suggestions as to wilderness type canoe camping/fishing trips and sites.

| This conference is obviously about sailing. I suggest that these folks
can give us some good information about the harbors, facilities, structure,
water conditions etc. where the fishing types like us might want to go.
In addition, I suggest there may be extensive knowledge about working with
fiberglass and wood in a marine environment, alternate suppliers of equipment
etc.

That's a good idea, Al. I might also add that when you make reference to
another related notefile, after you enter your note, simply type:
SET NOTE/CONFERENCE=node::conference_name
This will attach the related conference to your note and anyone wishing to
add that conference to their note directory need only press the SELECT key
(KEYPAD 7) to add it.

| this is an international conference which focuses on the art of
flyfishing. the conference deals with where, how to, equipment
of flyfishing. as well it deals with fly tying, conservation issues.
noters from a wide geograghical area (norway to california) who's
who is number 66. has recently moved to 'mtblue'.

Great idea Al.
Are there "geographical" kinds of notes files we should know about?
Something tells me that there must be notes in other places in the
world that deal with this stuff. I know we get some involvement
from the UK and the like but I can't remember hearing from some
of our GIA freinds ect. I would like to hear about fishing with
birds and whatever other speacial techniques that are special to
an area.

I added this the SAMIAM::BOATS entry to my main directory, but
I cannot access it. I keep getting the "ERROR OPENING..." message.
Anyone else having this problem? or am I doing something wrong?
I don't have this problem with any of the other dozen or so notes
files.
Any help is appreciated.

moderator wishes to move this please do so...
For anyone interested the POWER_BOATS notes conference has been
resurrected on node vicki::boats. If you wish to add this conference to your
notebook type KP7.
