Ahhh Come on, I was hoping the reply would be informative, not
a fee for an answer :-) , I am also heading up that way saturday
and would be interested in any tips. I'll be camping with my scanoe
    and no downriggers either.

So how about it??!!! What's your mailstop??, I'll send you a crispy
new 1 dollar bill for some tips that probably won't help me anyway!!

| | Ahhhh....even if you PAID the Legend (aka Rotor-Rooter) for information,
I'd STILL doubt the integrity of the info. He's bound to send you off
screaming up the lake and up onto a pile of sub-surface rocks.
Then he'd say..."gee, I didn't know they were there!"
Of course, if you fished from what he fishes from, you'd understand why!
(SH*T FLOATS very high in the water)
And I know DonMac isn't dumb enough to trade his honey-hole for what the
Legend thinks is his. I mean, who wants to fish from a toilet....except the
Legend, that is!

| | So... the leper knows Ossipee.... hmm.... is one weekend worth of
tips (?) worth giving out my HAWG producing honey of a honey hole????

I think this is another ploy of the legend's to find out my secret...

He probably doesn't even know where Ossipee is........

RE.2 Where you camping? I'll keep an eye out for a scanoe... we'll
be fishing from a 14ft aluminum SeaNymph, and skiing from a big blue
bayliner, we (3 couples) are camping at Totem Pole... maybe we'll
run into ya.... and Legend, if your up at `your honeyhole' this
weekend, maybe we'll run OVER ya!!!!!!!!!!!

Don Mac (who will consider talking to the legend..........)

| | I think I'll be staying at Bally-Hoo, I haven't looked at the map
yet so I'm not so sure how far it is from the lake, I may end up
fishing Little Ossipee, that's the one near the Maine border (I
think). Since I'll be Scanoeing it I'd rather stay away from the
water skiers and such and have a relaxing weekend with no wakes...

SO ARE WE GOING TO GET ANY *USELESS* TIPS OR WHAT????!!!!!

(he probably thinks Ossipee is near Kissimee Fla.!)

| | Don,
I know this is probably a little late to be asking this question,
but how did you do up at Ossipee. My club has a bass tourny there
this May and I was wondering how the bass fishing was/is?? Any info
you can give will be appreciated, to include ramps, etc...

    						Thanks in advance

| | Hello there Jim, Geez, that was awhile back. Anyway, I never got
a chance to do much bassin. Since there was 6 (3 couples) of us, most
of our "fishing" was cruising around the main lake, trolling stuff on
top (no downriggers), hoping to catch a confused salmon - needless to
    say that wasn't very productive.

However... I did get out for an hour or so and catch a largemouth
or two in coves off the channel that splits the lake.

| | Don,
Thanks for your response, but now what do you know about the launch
areas and parking. I was elected to get this info for the the club.
Our tourny is May 21st and the bad news is that it's a "no practice
tourny" which means I get to drive up there to check it out and
have to fish elsewhere. So the less running around that I do the
better! 8^\ <--(this is my disgruntled look).

    						Thanks again

| | The following is reprnted without permission form the "New Hampshire
Fishing Maps" by C. Swasey and D. Wilson, DeLorme publishing Co.

    Ossipee Lake

Are 3,092 acres Max. Depth 61 ft.
Fish: Salmon, Lake Trout, Brook T., Pickerel, Smallmouth Bass,
Cusk, Yellow Perch, Suckers, Hornpout, Smelt.

Ossipee Lake, Leavitt Bay, aand Broad Bay may be best described
as a large sandbowl filled with water. This lake is known primarily
for its good salmon fishing, but also has good populations of warm
water game fish. Good salmon fishing may be had in the spring off
the Bearcamp River because of the large run of smelt in the river
in early to mid April. During the summer drifted bait in the center
of the lake will take salmon. While Leavitt Bay and Brroad Bay do
have some lake trout, the fishing is poor. Trout fishing is best
confined to Ossipee itself. However, the rwo bays offer good fishing
for pearch and pickerel. Pickerel and perch fishing is also good
in the 600 acre shoal in the southern portion of Ossipee. There
is a public launch site on the eastern shore of the lake. A fee
is charged for parking. Average ice out is mid April.

Note: In looking at the ajoining map, I notice that the only area
marked for smallies and bass is in the notrh end of Broad bay and
the southeastern side of Leavitt Bay. There are marked boat ramps
in both of those locations and a third at the channel entry of the
bays into Ossipee itself. Hope this was helpful.
