454.0. "Maine Fish'in" by 38972::HOLLAND (Galvanized Yankee) Thu Aug 20 1987 17:16

This maybe a little late since I'm off to Maine on vacation
Saturday, but I had to ask since I've just found this noter's
    heaven.

Have any of you done any fishing around Bridgton, Maine? I'm
staying at Adam's Lake for a week, but I'd like to explore around
for any other good ol fish'in holes in the area. There's lots of
Bass and Trout in Adam's lake and I've caught quite a few. But
as they always say "the grass is always greener in the other pasture"
or fish'in hole in this case.

8-87 Field & Stream Smallmouth article mentions Main Bassin.
Crayfish locating is Bass locating. May be of some help.....

Well, just back from vacation and thought I'd drop a line to all
    the readers of this notesfile.

    The fishing was GREAT!!!!

Spent all week rowing around Adam's lake catching bass and trout.
An interesting note though: The best lure I found for both the bass
and trout was Mann's Auger Tail (black and silver) and also Mann's
Jelly Wiggler (light grey). No other colors worked repeatedly like
these two did. No other lures worked period, not even my old standby
    the "Shad Rap".

Another interesting note: The bass were caught mainly near shore
in shallow water and the trout were caught on the bottom in very
    deep water (over fifty feet).
