448.0. "POISON FISH?" by USMRM7::TDORA () Fri Aug 14 1987 10:41

Did anyone hear about poison fish in the Quabbin Reservoir?
I only caught the last few minutes when they were talking about
it on the news advising people not to eat fish caught there.

    Any info?

    Thanks.

Isnt it just great, All the fish are full of chemicals, In
Lake Ontario you shouldnt eat the fish. In the ocean you shoulnt
eat the blues dark meat (PCB's), and now quabin. Just wait untill
they get around to testing cattle and vegtables. You wonder if it
is so bad to eat these fish, then how do the fish survive with all
the poison in there system? The problem is only going to get worse
as long as there are acceptable levels of dumping. Look at Boston
Harbor, Tons of S**t is dumped into the harbor daily. In Quinsig.,
this spring, there was a sewerage overflow that allowed thousands
of gallons of raw sewerage to flow into the lake.

I didnt mean to ramble on but I'm gonna tell ya how ta eat these
fellers, Well with the blue fish you dont eat the dark meat, I would
asume that goes for any oily fish in the sea? With salmon, trout,
and bass dont eat the meat down near the bellie (cut it off before
you cook it). The reason; that is where most of the fat is on a fish,
and thats were the chemicals accumulate.

    Happy fishing and eating
