    Hi, I'm Interested in buying a 16' Starcraft, I've recieved a price
    quote From Frenis Marina in Ashland Ma. I would like to know of
    other Starcraft dealers in the Mass/southern N.H. area. I've also
    posted this in the powerboats notes conferance but they seem to
    be more interested in hi performance boats and can't comprehend
    why I'd want to start out with a cheap little aluminum boat!
    Any help will be appriciated!

	Boy do I understand where you are coming from. Yes you do have to start somewhere and I think that either a 16 or 18 ft starcraft is excelent choice. At least they make nice fishing boats if the proper model is purchased. They may make nice ski boats but I won't know because I'm just a fisherman Another important thought is that if taken care of Starcraft hold their value well. Baert Marine ( north shore) Johnsons motors Pepins ( springfield Mass.) Mercury Motors You may want to try Doug Russel in shrewsberry Mass. I don't think he carries starcraft but he has in my opinion the BEST prices. But if you can't get what you want you will have to try one of the others

	In Plaistow, N.H. try Baert Marine North, d.b.a. Sport Shack. They are on Rt. 125 and their number is 603-382-9201 and they are a Starcraft dealer, too.

	Just bought a BASSTRACKER 16 foot with tiller steer 35 H.P. complete with trailer, live well, Hummingbird fish finder and a ton of other extra gear for less than $5K from Marine USA in Worcester. This was about the same price quoted for a stripped down Starcraft. I also went by the place in Ashland and found that the BASSTRACKER boat with all of its extras was significantly better buy with good resale value. They also have other less expensive boats with trailers from BASSTRACKER as well. Just a word of caution though, beware of the typical sales pitches on deliver of boats not in stock.
