372.0. "maps - finding the launch" by GEMINI::CIPPUB (Mail Node REAGAN::CORTIS) Mon Jun 15 1987 14:46

I'm new to boat fishing (so new I don't have a boat yet!). I plan
on picking up a small boat with an outboard and an electric trolling
moter. All on a trailer. My question is, were does one find all
the launch ramps at different lakes? Is there some book or mag in
NH that tells of all the places? Are there fees to be paid for using
the ramp, parking you car and trailer there?

How about any question that I might have left out? So new to this
I'm not even sure I'm asking the right questions never mind the
    ones I'm sure I'm missing.

    Thanx

    Barry

Its called Clarkes Fishing Guide and it lists virtually every
fishable NH fresh water. It's not cheap but it's well worth the
    money.

The Delorme publications work well together, the Fishing Maps book
tells you wich map in the atlas that body of water is on.

I probably should have elaborated on .1. The Clarkes fishing
guide has more than just directions to lakes/ponds/rivers and ramps.
The guide tells you the available parking, launch fee's (if any)
and the condition of the ramp itself.

There is also a rough topo map showing rocks/shoal/weeds/depth and
disolved oxygen of each body of water as well as what kind of bait and
fish are available. There are comments on the authors opinion of each
place. In the back of the book are pictures of the various weeds native
    to the NH waters.

It's convienient and handy to have so much information organized
and in one place. Well worth the money if you like to fish different
    places.

Thanx guys a whole bunch from me as well as my 8 year old. He has
been bugging me for a boat so we can go fishing for awhile. Problem
seem to be is getting a boat! Every time I pick up the want-ad,
I call the first four say, and they already have been sold. They
seem to have good deals to (what do ya think) : 12' FG or Alum boat
(jon boat or V), between 4-7hp outboard, trailer and sometimes a
trolling moter for around 500-700 bucks.

Thanx again, I'll be picking that stuff up this week.

372.9Looking for guideDSSDEV::CHANMon Jul 27 1987 12:318
There is numerous mentions of the Clark's NH Fishing Guide. I've
looked around the local fishing stores in Nashua without any luck
in finding a copy. Can someone point me to a store that might carry
it. If not, how about the publisher?

    Thanks.

The only place I could find one a few weeks ago was NBS. Seems
most places are out of them. But when I was there (NBS) Gary Clark
said that they had some more at the binders then, so I imagine most
places should be getting some more in real soon. Don Mac
