| I just went camping up to N.H. and have been camping for many years,
always looking for this type of paridise. Finally found it and many
others.
1) Try Tripoli Road, Exit 31 off of rt93-one exit before rt112
Cancamungas Highway. Towards Russel Pond Camp Grounds-Turns to dirt,
was told by Lincoln Police you can camp there any where on the dirt
road. This road follows the East branch of the Pemi River (trout are
an average of 8" to 10" little small for my fry pans.
2) Another option - Same exit although this time turn left from
the off ramp, to the end of the road - turn left again and on the
right and left side of the road is the Pemi River with both trout
and salmon. Catch average size of 14" long, much better. There are
many dirt roads to the river side of witch I have seen many people
camp. This river can except canoes with no problem.
3) Third option is to do as I did. Grab a detailed map of this area
and start following the marked rivers. I sometimes spend hours and
hundreds of miles looking for both lakes, streams and rivers but it's
worth it.

IN RESPONSE TO THE QUESTION ABOUT A GOOD RIVER TRIP BY CANOE, THE
"NEW HAMPSHIRE GAZETTE" HAS A MAP OF EVERY PART OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
AND VARIOUS POINTS OF INTEREST AND THINGS TO DO. THERE IS A
LISTING OF CANOE TRIPS WITH ALL THE INFO YOU NEED TO KNOW, INCLUDING
DISTANCE, TYPE OF WATER (CLASS) AND OTHER INFO.
A GREAT PLACE THAT I'VE BEEN TO IS UMBAGOG LAKE IN ERROL NH. IT RUNS
INTO A RIVER AND THE LAKE ITSELF IS UNSPOILED WITH SEVERAL MILES OF
SHORELINE. THERE IS A PLACE CALLED UMBAGOG LAKE CAMPS WHERE YOU CAN
RENT A WHOLE ISLAND FOR YOURSELF DIRT CHEAP, OR A WOOD SITE A FEW MILES
OUT BY CANOE. WE HAD THE ISLAND AND DIDN'T SEE BUT 1 OTHER PERSON
IN 4 DAYS. ALSO SAW ALL KINDS OF WILD LIFE.
GOOD LUCK
