Hi, Does anyone have any experience with fishing the Vermont waters of Harriman Resevoir (ie. what species does it have)? I'm planning on venturing with several other to an Ice Fishing Derby (a 2 day derby) and am looking for any input I can get, yes, I've never fished there as you can tell. It sounds like a good derby where supposedly Grand Prize is a new truck and first place is $10K of cash! The sponsors are the Deerfield Valley Sportsmen's club if anyone is interested, the cost is 15 bucks and the day of is 18 bucks (can't complain about that cost). /Dave

According to the Vt. Guide to Fishing, The species listed for Harriman Res. are Brook, Brown & Rainbow Trout, Landlock Salmon, Smelt Yellow Perch, Chain Pickerel, Smallmouth Bass & Panfish. When does the durby take place. I think the season opens next weekend (1/20/96) correct ? Bruce | |||||

re .1 Thanks for the info, the derby starts Saturday the 20th & 21st. From what I've heard the Res was stocked with trout and thats what the prize list is based on. I just hope there's not 3 ft of snow to trudge through, that won't be fun. Also I believe they've tagged the trout for the prizes. /Dave |
