| Dennis,
I've had similar experiences when using two LCRs or flashers made by the
same manufacturer. In fact, the problem can occur among almost any brand
if the transmit frequencys used are the same or extremely close. The
problem is that one transducer picks up the signal of another unit's
transducer and is unable to differentiate the signal from its own, thus
causing interferance. My only suggestion is to turn off one of the units.

464.2 | Buy different frequency units. | SALEM::WOODM | | Mon Aug 28 1995 16:35 | 5 |
| If you plan on running more then one unit at the same time you need
to purchase ones that run on different frequencies. I've been looking
into this as I want to add another unit to the back of my boat so I can
monitor the bottom while working the downriggers. So far I've seen units
that work at 200KHz, 192 KHz and 50KHz. Most are 200 KHz...

| Well, I just bought an EAGLE that is at 192 and the Hummingbird is at
200, haven't installed it yet. But for some reason I think the older
EAGLE was at 192 also. I am expecting the same problem, but with any
luck they will both work. I'll keep you posted...

| MY two lowrances are at 195, but I don't know what the flash is set too.
When
the flasher is on I lots of noise on the charts. But the charts just kill
the high speed flasher.. All kinds of echos on the entore scale.

464.5 | It works ? | SHRCTR::BROSNIHAN | | Thu Sep 14 1995 16:52 | 12 |
| I hooked up the EAGLE SUPER PRO and turned the Hummingbird on with no
problem. But after a couple of hours the Hummingbird started acting up
again with depths of 200 feet. Sure enough I shut the new Eagle off and
the Hummingbird corrected itself, but I could not turn the Eagle back
on without crazy depths. I tried it again later and it worked fine.
The only thing I can figure is that I was fishing over a long ledge and
it was combining both signals or poor filtering in the Hummingbird.
By the way, for $100.00 the EAGLE is a great buy, with great features,
considering the Hummingbird was over $300.00.
