Hi, I am new to this notes file, so please excuse any errors of etiquette. I am looking for information about tides and/or tide tables for july, august and sept for the north east coast. My father-in-law is taking a day off the week after next and go try for stripers. He wants to know as what their are feeding on is swept in and out by the tides and they follow. Looking for a tide change early morning. This way he'll be able to fish thru 3 changes in the day and get home around 9 PM or so. Thanks for any info. Steve

Tides vary widely depending on the location. The best thing to do is get a copy of the Eldrigde Tide Guide. It provides tide tables for many locations all along the east coast. Alternatively, you can usually pick up tide tables at a baitshop in the area you plan to fish. The Fisherman magazine also has tide tables for various locations in the northeast starting thursday of the week that each edition is published thru the next 10 days or so. I suggest that you concentrate your fishing from very early morning (like starting around 4am) until noonish. Its been so hot that evening fishing may be problematic depending on where you fish ... certainly evening fishing in shallow estuaries isn't liketly to be great if the weather stays as is. Good luck, mark |
