Can someone suggest the best fish finder to buy and where to get one at a reasonable price. I would like to buy my husband one that attaches to the side of a boat without having to be permanently mounted...maybe has something that hangs in the water... Is there such a thing? Anne

Anne Almost all the manufacturers have a portable fish finder that the transducer element is mounted on a suction cup that you stick on the end of your boat. The drawback of this type is that they run off those old square batteries with the screw tops. I don't know how long those batterys last. If you or your husband are at all handy, buy a regular fish finder that runs off a 12v car battery and make a tempory mount yourself. I have an Eagle Magma II and I like it a lot, you can get them at the best price at Bass Pro Shops 1-800-bass pro Brian

Bottom-Line makes a fish finder that clamps to the gunwale of the boat or anything it can slide over. It has a built in screen and is also a side finder. It goes around $150. But it is very portable and runs off of batteries. Not sure if it will also hook up to an outside source for power. Wal-Mart K-MArt and Bass Pro should carry them. Regards Don
