< Can anyone recommend a good LCD display sounder for saltwater fishing < up to 100 meters....???? < Dougie, Are you coming for training or just to go shopping? You'll have to plunder the crown jewels for all the stuff you want to buy while you're here...:-):-) Really can't help answer your question, although I like Eagle/Lowrance equipment but I don't fish to that depth. You might also ask the same question in VICKI::BOATS... Al
375.2 | Consider Dual Frequency | SALEM::ABRAMS | Thu Apr 14 1994 14:15 | 12
The new Apelco XCD560 has 300 watts RMS so it should give you a pretty good picture at 100 meters if the water is not to cloudy or filled with silt. Some of the new Hummminbird depth sounders have 500 watts RMS but they operate at a high frequency so you have very good defination but limited depth in anything but clear water. If you are looking for a depth sounder that will go deep you should be considering a dual frequency sounder with a 50/200 khz capability. George (JOY III) |
