I know people do fairly well from shore in the early spring, when the
trout and salmon are up top. This time of year, the trout and salmon
are down deep and it's probably pretty tough to catch them from shore.
You may be able to catch some perch or smallmouth from various shorelines.
You can rent boats up there. If you decide to do that, you might find
some pretty good smallmouth action around the islands.
good luck,

| If you are definately land bound your best bets for Bass both large and
small are around some of the bridges. My first pick would be the Long
Island bridge in the North (there are also a few spots on the island
which are still not overdeveloped...You may also get to see a few
whitetails as the island is overpopulated with them also).
If you happen to rent a boat head out for the smaller islands and fish
spinners & topedo's. The small mouth fishing is excellent.

| I know it's a vacation, but my advice is to get up EARLY if you
want to catch some bass. I'd be out at 1st light if it was me.
By noon you'll be ready for a bass fry, couple of brews and a nap :*)

| On Lake Winnie I have been catching small mouth bass but I'm fishing
the Islands and points. Alot of the fish are 2 lbs or more, but no real
heavy wieghts yet. There hitting about everything. The best bet is to
rent a boat for a day and get up really early and fish the rocky points
and Islands.
