I'm starting this note in hopes of reaping some information. I'll be in the area of Pierre, South Dakota the first week of August. I'm going after pike. I've never been to that part of the country and would love to get advice on: Fishing Spots, hints, ... Pop-Up camping Spots (close to the fishing spot) I've already learned that the best locations are north of the Oahe dam, but I'm interested in specifics. Any help would be appreciated.

Latest issue of Bassin' just out Saturday ironically calls out the Dakotas as one of the top productive, low cost, under pressured fishing areas in the country. There might be some information leads in this publication for you. Although Bassin' obviously isn't too interested in your quest for pike, it would probably spell out some information sources in the area you are heading towards. Good luck. |
