| I made a quick scouting trip to the outerbanks last month. From what
the locals said;
Bluefish should be showing in the surf, although you're still early
There will probably be some spanish mackrel as well.
The sound should have trout and redfish.
Oregon inlet and okrakoke (sp?) inlet may have redfish as well
There are also several piers which will have the usual assortments.
Dont really know much about offshore or charters.
A four wheel drive would be very useful
Looks like bait on the bottom and tin on the top are recommended.
I believe you can hire a surf guide
Bring sand spikes and heavy sinkers (surf is pretty active)
Bring waders (be careful) There are several good tackle stores
along the coast.
From first hand knowledge, I can testify that:
The food is wonderful (try Bubba's B-B-Q), and the people nice.
