I grew up in Springfield. I fished 5 mile pond quite often when I was a kid. From what I remember, the beach part always produced well early in the year. This weekend, it will be crowded with bathers. If you walk past the beach, a small "bay" exists on the far side. All through here is good. As the water warms, I fished along the far side where the RR tracks are. This is the deepest part of the pond. The tracks really cut one lake in half, forming 5 mile pond and Lake Lorraine. The tracks side of both waters is the deep part. Good luck. Tim |
