| Look at note 6.693 in the 4 sale area. I you want to get back into
it again with little cash involved.

| Thanks Vinny,
But if I remember, isn't the RC10 two-wheel-drive. I would really
like 4WD. I'll keep it in mind.
Thanks Again,
Travis

| Pick up a recent issue of R/C car action at the local hobby
shop, good way to find out whats hot and whats not. My personal
preference is the tamiya line of cars as well as associated(sp).
I own the RC10, stock, only mod. is the addition of bearings. They
sell a four wheel drive mod. for it as well.

1650.4 | Another view | APACHE::POLAR::THIMOT | | Thu Jan 19 1995 12:50 | 14 |
| Another good route is to find a local track and find out what is being
raced there. From what I have seen one of the good 4wd buggies is the
Schumaker (sp?) cat series. There isn't very much in the way of 4wd
buggies up here in the frozen north, mainly 2wd mod-truck and 2wd stock
& mod buggy.
I have been primarily an indoor racer but have recently picked up a
slightly used Losi hybrid JRxt/XX buggy.
Give me a shout sometime.

| Jim,
You said something about a 4wd mod for the RC10, How expensive is this,
and how does the reliability and performance stack up against other
4wds.
Al,
How far North are you, and are you saying that people are mainly racing
the 2wd class as opposed to the 4wd? I'm kind of clueless as to where
this hobby has developed in the past few years. Thanks for the help.

1650.6 | way up north | APACHE::POLAR::THIMOT | | Thu Jan 19 1995 16:01 | 6 |
| Travis,
I'm in Kanata, Ont. Canada...That's just outside of Ottawa. I work at
the Kanata PC Mfg plant here.
Yes, most of the local racing scene is the 2wd variety.

1650.7 | if you have to ask, you can't afford it | CSLALL::ONEILL | | Fri Jan 20 1995 07:12 | 8 |
| I can't say for sure how expensive the modification is but I would
guess it to be kinda pricey. Seems almost any upgrade for the RC10
is expensive, thats the reason I've stayed mostly stock. I suppose
if you gotta have something four wheel drive, you might as well buy
something already designed that way. Happy shopping and let us know
what you settle on.

1650.8 | Can't beat a laser | GLDOA::ROWEN | show 4 me, I'll show 4 you | Mon Mar 27 1995 16:57 | 8 |
| I would go with kyosho, the parts are much easier to find the
schumacher, and the laser comes in a low end and a high end model.
The top end can also be had as a glow based vehicle. The laser ZX-R
is hot here in detroit and competes head to head with everything else.
Kyosho 4wd is the only products I like from them ( except their F1 cars
are cute(but not competitive). In 8th scale 4wd glow they DOMINATE!
