1590.1 | Why no load? | QUIVER::WALTER | | Mon Apr 25 1994 13:01 | 6 |
| I still can't get this program to install. It gets as far as the
THREED.VBX file and then tells me "THREED.VBX could not be installed".
Any hints?

1590.2 | Try and copy it again using one of these methods | BLARRY::Bonnette | | Wed May 04 1994 09:01 | 33 |
| The only thing I can think of is that the THREED.VBX
file on your floppy is corrupt. This may have happened during
the transfer of the files from the VAX to your floppy. I have
copied the files two differnt ways to the floppy and intsalled
them to my PC. Both of these methods worked.
Method 1 Use pathworks.
The VAX name is VAXDEM and its address is 12.548
Define the name in your NCP Database on your PC
NCP DEF NODE 12.548 NAME VAXDEM MS
Connect to PCCOMMON on VAXDEM
USE G: \\VAXDEM\PCCOMMON
COPY G:\MOTWIZ\*.* A:
Method 2 Use NFT
Define VAXDEM in your NCP database as in method 1 then
NFT COPY/BLOCK VAXDEM"GUEST"::$1$DIA1:[PUBLIC.MTRCMP]*.* A:\
Once you have gotten the files on a floppy run windows and then from the
program manager click on file then run a:\setup.

1590.5 | Calculates Motor type | BLARRY::Bonnette | | Mon May 16 1994 10:39 | 15 |
| This prograsm will predict the type of electric motor and
number of cells necessary to power a model whose specs you enter
into the program.
Example:
Suppose you are looking through the Tower catalog and you
see a nifty Glow powered aircraft you would like to build as an electric.
No problem, just enter the weight of the model and the
wingspan and chord (or the wing square inches) and the software will
display the motor that should be used, the number of cells, the stall
speed, flight speed and a prop graph that will help you select the proper
prop. In addition, a list of motors and current prices that fit the
specifications of the motor that was calculated can be listed.

1590.6 | Version T1.5 of Motor Wizard | BLARRY::Bonnette | | Mon Jun 20 1994 13:40 | 11 |
| Announcing Version T1.5 of Motor WIzard.
I have added an Advanced section that will plot power
curves for motors that you know your armature resistance of. It will
also plot a line for motor efficiency verses current.
I have added a section that will produce RPM redictions on
motors that you know your armature resistance and "K".
Enjoy

1590.7 | Version T1.6 | BLARRY::Bonnette | | Fri Sep 02 1994 11:14 | 23 |
| Announcing Version T1.6
This version corrects a few bugs.
Added a power graph that will plot power if you know armature
resistance
Added an efficeincy graph that will plot efficiency if you know
armature resistence.
Added a graph that will plot RPM against current if you know
"K" and armature resistance. ( the help file tells you how to determine
"K" and armature resistance).
Added a graph that plots power against rpm of a prop ( you enter the
prop size and pitch).
Added even more help.
I have written a user manual, should I make it available ?

| Announcing Motor Wizard Version T1.7
As requested I have added the ability to turn on and off
grids on all the graphs.
I added a Thrust graph that will plot thrust in ounces against
RPM you enter the prop pitch and diameter.

1590.9 | Version T1.8 | BLARRY::Bonnette | | Thu Dec 08 1994 08:35 | 15 |
| Announcing MotorWizard Version T1.8
I have changed the way I am distributing MotorWizard. It is now in a
self extracting file called MW.EXE. It is still located in the same places.
If you have pathworks you can connect to \\VAXDEM\PCCOMMON MW.EXE
is in the MOTWIZ subdirectory.
If you wish you can use NFT to copy the file
NFT COPY /BLOCK Vaxdem"GUEST"::$1$DIA1:[PUBLIC.MTRCMP]MW.EXE c:\TEMP
I have added More Help and More graphs
